My daughter’s hands are small and she was having trouble hitting the C note on her new French horn because she couldn’t press the thumb lever down all the way. These did the trick by giving some height to the lever and allowing her thumb to reach. Since there were 12 in the package, she also put these on the 3 valve levers as they were a little slippery.

I’m a middle school band director and I buy these thumb rests for my clarinet students every single year. I teach a clarinet specific class that has about 30-40 6th grade clarinet players. It’s a great way to introduce “upgrades” to their instrument by giving them a thumb rest they can choose the color of. Then we get to talk about mouthpiece patches, higher quality ligatures, mouthpieces and reeds. They are a little hard which is why I gave 4 stars rather than 5, but not as uncomfortable as the metal one on their instruments and are pretty sturdy. They fit perfectly on all my students’ clarinets. Easy to use, fun colors for the kids, and good for the price.

Great for students, a bit thick and hard but totally functional. Smooth rubber that will fit most clarinets. Bought these for my middles schoolers.

I thought these thumb rest cushions would have some “squish” but they are hard, and thus do not provide any cushiony relief. Not only are they hard, but they are so thick that they affected my right hand position in a negative way. Just so you know, I’ve been playing clarinet since ‘67.
