These are large hooks. They are strong and thick steel. These should do nicely. I just set up a shark rod and reel so these will go right on it and out in the Atlantic we will go.

I won't get to put these to the test in the surf until later in the spring, but on first inspection I'm happy with them. They are very similar to a particular rig I get down in Florida, just lacking the slide attachment for a weight. I was thrilled to find something on the smaller end, as I am not really targeting the big boys when it comes to sharks. Smaller ones are good eating! Most shark rigs I see are with the bragging-rights sized sharks, not sharks for good eating. These rigs are made as well as anything I've used in the past, even if the crimping is a little different. With the smaller hook size, I feel these may be good for red drum and the like in the surf where I fish as well.
