You don't have to put feed in it for weeks,if you put it in a 5 gallon bucket.

I have been making these from scratch for years, so I was intrigued by the ready-made kit. What a game changer! The installation was a breeze compared to previous efforts, it's more secure and functional than ones made from off the shelf plumbing parts, and overall a great value since it comes with the properly sized hole saw in the kit. I like the ability to close off ports with the enclosed plugs. This could help save my back when raising meat chickens. Great product!

These ZenxyHoC Chicken Feeders have been a fantastic addition to my coop! No more wasted feed scattered everywhere, and my chickens have a constant supply of food available. This DIY kit was incredibly easy to install, even for someone like me with limited handyman skills. The included hole saw made creating the access holes in my bucket a breeze.The design of the feeder ports is brilliant. The chickens can easily access the feed, but the narrow openings prevent them from scooping it out and making a mess. These ZenxyHoC Chicken Feeder ports are larger in size than others I have used. This isn't particularly a problem just an observance. One interesting side effect of this is that the port doesn't sit flush when mounted in a round bucket due to the port being flat - I did subtract one star for that because they show the item being used with a round bucket and in the picture the ports are totally flush with the bucket, and that isn't accurate. The product does come with flexible gaskets, and is ultimately still basically functional, just doesn't look quite right. I will find a square bucket or rectangular bin, completely eliminating this issue.I like that these ports come with removeable plugs so you can block the feeders from being used if you choose to, and I really appreciate that it came complete with the correct size hole saw to install the product!
