I love this chicken feeder! It is perfect for multiple chickens as there are four different feeders. I had a problem with my last feeder because my chickens kept getting dirt in the food, this protects the food and keeps it clean and it is also easy for them to get to. I also love that it has the Roosting resistant triangle top so the chickens can’t purge on top of it. It keeps it clean and nice. It is also nice for if you need to go away for a few days because you can fit a lot of food in it. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with chickens!

I love the versatility of these feeders. You can connect it from the outside or inside of the pen. If on the outside it makes for quick refills even quicker if for example, you’re dealing with a grumpy rooster that you don’t wanna have to fend off while you’re refilling it. I wish there was a way to close it from the outside though there’s just a little black plastic thing that you can slide back-and-forth to let the feed flow for the birds to get or stop it. I wanna be able to close it every night and open it every morning in between refills. I may not be filling the food every day, but I’m still opening and closing different coops which sucks in frigid cold weather without gloves, but you can’t put gloves on with some of the latches and when you’re that cold, even a tiny rooster kicking or pecking, you hurts like hell.

I have the larger version of this that I purchased for feed - and one for water...but I needed one for grit (and will need one for oyster shell)...In years past, I now know I wasted SO much food as they chickens scratched at the feeder - and rain got into it.But this style of feeder is a game-changer - it prevents nearly any waste at all from the chickens scratching around in it. It also protects it from rain/snow and keeps the contents dry.The plastic is dense and very durable.Kudos to RentACoop for providing such high-quality feeders and waterers...they knew just what we needed!

Bought for my quail. Easily attaches to their coop wire. Stays dry and easy to refill.

I have three chicks I'm raising, they are about a couple weeks in. I started with small feeder from local store. The problem with that feeder is chicken poop would get inside the holes, and they wouldn't be able to eat at same time.This one works great, they can all eat at same time, you can see em in photo, and keeps the food clean because they pop their head in to get the feed. The pyramid top stops them from roosting, so keeps the overall bucket clean. Happy with purchase, just bought the water feeder from same seller that I will hook up later.

Not horrible but not the best. Feed gets stuck in the opening on the bottom and doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to even with the pullets pecking. It takes a lot of effort for them and I’m constantly having to shake and use my finger to get it function properly. The hole needs to be larger on the red cylinder you screw in. Over all it’s sturdy. Hooks easily to wire. But the point is for easy feeding - fill it and move on until it’s empty but I’m constantly having to check on it and use my finger to wiggle more free. We’re still on pullet feed so it might work better with whole grains that aren’t as “powdery/fine”. This set up is temporary but I was hoping to use it in the future for peeps, for the cost it should function better with all types of feed. Going to be frustrating if I have to find something different down the line. This should be a one and done purchase.

After experiencing a lot of waste with my baby chicks feed, I ordered this product. It definitely is a no mess feeder, but the problem I’m having is that the mash feed gets stuck and does not fall down to where the chicks can reach. They know how to use it, but it doesn’t automatically refill so I am still having to try to shake it down or refill it by the front which defeats the purpose of having a feeder that doesn’t need to be constantly filled. They should be switching to a crumble in about a week, so I will try it with that and then update my review if it’s better. It’s unfortunate because I love the idea of this and the matching water has been very successful!Update! Although this was difficult with the starter mash, the crumble works very well! My chicks have done well with no mess!Additionally, customer service was incredibly helpful, responsive and genuinely wanted their product to be successful. I am changing my 2 star to 5.

I wanted to make this thing work. I intended to hang it so that I could fill from the outside and the chickens could eat from the inside of the coop run. Sadly, the metal cage that holds the feeder isnt tight enough to keep it flush with the opening to the coop/run. We ended up bending the metal just to tighten up the fit.Then, we noticed that there is nothing to prevent an animal (let's just say a squirrel) from pushing the feeder at the bottom to gain access to the food...the base is only held down by gravity. So, we took cable ties to shore up that floppiness.After all that, the chickens still wont use it. They would starve before they would stick their head in the red hole and then peck downward at the food. The hole goes on the bottom and the food isnt going to travel up the hole into the red port. So, the chicken has to really work for the food. My chickens won't won't go near it. I have tried putting a little food in the port hole so they will associate that location with food...not even remotely interested.Now I have a hole that I made in my coop/run to fit this feeder that I'll have to patch. With all the modifications I made to the feeder, of course, I can't return it. Don't buy this unless you have really smart chickens and you plan to install inside the coop.

I purchased this product thinking it would keep the chick good clean. It does!,,, BECAUSE the chicks cannot get at the food. AS THE SHAFTS ARE TOO DEEP. We had to cut the inserts by at least 1/2 so the chicks could see the food. BY THAT TIME THEY WOULDN’T USE IT.SO I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT

This the best feeder dispenser I ever used. No crumbs to sweep up. No loss of food any more.It keeps the food inside the bowl. My quails did not take long to work out how to use it.
