I'm not the most gentle of mechanics, I don't baby my tools. I don't exactly leave them out in the rain to rust away to nothing, but I don't always oil them like I should. And I'm always dropping them. I have dropped this thing on the ground Countless Times And It Continues Working Perfectly. it has tons of torque and is relatively quiet. My friends are all uber jealous.

I work as a professional auto tech for over 25 years so I am no noobie to tools . When I saw this I was excited to get it . It was rated at 90 Ft LBS , well constructed . I open her up and oil it 1st thing . Hook it to a air line at My shop and the thing starts running on its own with out pulling the trigger . After several atempts of trying to unstick the trigger , sucess ! I figure its just dry from sitting on the shelf. So I get a water pump job to do so I grab this tool and give it a go . Would not even break loose little water pump bolts and bear in mind that this IS rated at 90 FT LBS ! I have to help it to get it going and when it does , it turns slow , real slow . VERY disapointed my old diying air ratchet out did this brand new 200 dollor piece of junk . This thing is heavy , slow, and way underpowered . The trigger is made cheep and sticks . Run , run far away from this POS

Excellent product, well built, plenty of power for its applications. Definitely quieter than other air ratchets I have used. Has a plastic coating on the head to protect items being worked on. Great customer service also - I had a question about a specification, and was able to reach a knowledgeable representative quickly. Highly recommended.

Good Year makes quality products . This order arrived to me in Connecticut in January a very cold month .The hose is flexible, but arrived coiled up --wanted to stay that way. After taking the hose to a warmer inside allowed it to thaw ,,it got flexible. I took it to the cold garage works ok ,,not as good as the SEARS black 3/8 hose I also have, it gets semi rigid but can be moved around, Fittings are brass ,well connected work well. Its a 4 star but not a 5 the quality is good but not very good or excellant. Looks like it was made overseas as the lettering on the hose is not correctly spelled out.I also ordered the Chicago Pneumatic 3/8 air Rachet --- CP 7830Q -- oh baby!!I was surprised -totally!!This is a big , air rachet ,heavy ,,used by King Kong Bundy to terrrorize auto engines!!The rachet reeks reeks of quality ,, made in Japan (the Jappers do make quality products ,,this is a 5 star product!!) The finish is far superior to any product I have ordered in a long long time.Comes with a plastic cover over the rachet head to prevent knicks ,,scratches. The handle is rubber,, for saving your hands. Precision made reverse /forward selector on the rachet top.OOOO la la !! IN the middle a classic rotable metal noise band for allowing noise --rotate it one way or the other to quiet the rachet or allow for more power. Reeks of pure quality!!Torque is not for sissys its strong!! Oh Yes !! Good reverse power say good by to bolt bashers as this rachet can take a bolt out faster than a mother in law on a bruise cruise!! The best way is lightly lightly use the button ( its unique,, power can be managed -well!!) Ok hoppy fans the torquing-- putting a bolt --say 10 milleters in-- overpowered! You can bust bolts with the best!!I lightly put the small bolts back in ,,used a 1/4in rachet on the 10 mill bolts to get good results,, with hand tightening at the end.The rachet when reversing -on bigger bolts can be used --as a Rachet!!AS IN STRONG!!This is a strong tool for Proffesional mechanic that will last !!Under heavy industrial use-- once a month take apart -grease. You can order 3 inner parts that under heavy daily usage can be inexpensively replaced.Thats a big plus for the pro.No need to order a new wrench .The head is not for small tight spaces, its big!!You'll need a smaller headed air rachet for tight places CP does have one-- with less torque. I have a 33 gallon compressor tank the 3/8 air rachet ran well did not use up all the air .Powerfull!!Fingers do not get mangled !! You can control the power in tight situations!! Nice!! I am a home owner have a garage,, did not expect this high grade quality product !!The price is excellant !!I.R. products I have used I.R. has good quality but not this good!!The wrench is balanced, delivers as promised,, a knock out punch!Wow--and -- its quiet as a boss with a hangover!!Comes with a 4 inch flipout knife thats super well made--yes I can be bribed!!I will order one more CP air wrench - love this one!!Amazon this review is for 2 products needs to separated please !!The air rachet is a far superior product that I never expected for the price!

This is a great 1/2 in air ratchet. I have a good 1/2 inch set of impact sockets and a good impact gun. This 1/2 ratchet was a good way to get more milage out of my existing impact sockets, especially the smaller sockets.A few things about this ratchet.- at 90lbs of torque its about as strong as you can get for something in this size- its long so you can reach pretty deep- the head is plastic covered so if you're a restorer this ratchet won't bang abrasively into anything- this ratchet is pretty quite as air tools goAs a con- the head of this ratchet is not small and is pretty typical for a 1/2 ratchet. But this makes me sometimes wish I had a 3/8 impact socket set and a 3/8 ratchet. So if you do a lot of precision work with the smaller sockets and are looking for an air tool, make sure this 1/2 ratchet will get in everywhere you need to.Of note, Chicago Pneumatic is not a US company anymore - I think someone outside the US bought them.Overall, a very solid ratchet, quiet, and dependable.
