I have no idea if this is a good one but it did what I wanted it to do. The lights don't mean anything that I can tell. They seem to stay on all of the time. They don't seem to work like my other waffle makers have. But it makes a pretty good Ice Cream Cone.

Disappointed does not adequately convey the depth of my disgust for this kitchen device. Don't waste your money buying this.We (by necessity) make a lot of our own food. I purchased this as a family present so that we could have waffle cones again(!!!). My first clue that this was a POS was the fact that there was a small scratch on one of the cooking plates. Ok, maybe it won't affect the function *that* much - I went ahead and tried it. Preheated it, put two tablespoons of batter on, closed it..... went to check a couple minutes later and the entire lid came apart (see pictures #1 & 2). The plates were hot, but not hot enough to cook on apparently. When I opened it wider to clean the uncooked batter off, the outside completely separated from the top plate/heating coil.TL;DR: This will fall apart the first time you use it. I would give this 0 stars if I could.

The cone maker is good and works well. The heat adjustment knob is pretty tight, which is nice, since you would usually tune it only once and never touch again. The actual assembly is not of a very good quality. Also, after half an hour of use, the whole cone maker is very hot, which makes it very hard ti use.The frying surface is not very non-sticking, in fact, it has to be oiled to work good.

Every used item that I have bought through Amazon Prime has been more than acceptable - except for this one. The Waffle Cone Maker was gross. Had never been cleaned. I had to scrub it multiple time just to remove the sticky residue from it. The line to let you know whether you wanted darker or lighter cones was completely rubbed off before I even began cleaning. The inside still had remnants of previous user. The cone shaping tool was cracked. Whoever had repackaged this item before sending it through the Amazon system did a poor job. There was no protective material inside the waffle cone maker box to protect it from being damaged in shipping. Most of the user instructions were missing, as well. There was one small sheet - but incomplete. To say that I am disappointed, is really stating it lightly. I feel as if this was misrepresented. If my children had not been home and SO excited about waffle cones, I probably would have considered returning it. As it is, I cleaned it several times, oiled it properly - as previous owner clearly did not do. I do not feel as if it was worth the money I was supposed to have saved to buy used as opposed to new. Next time I will seriously reconsider.

My husband bought this to use with my daughter's 14th birthday (an ice cream social). We love it! I will caution you that there is a delicate balance between cooking the cones *too* much and *too* little. Too little means they get dark and they are *very* crunchy and do not hold up well.

I've only used this machine once so far, so this is written from THAT point of view. This cone maker's instructions really suck! Some little Chinese guy must have just not have translated correctly. Also the outside gets VERY hot so you should have a hot pad with you. When you turn it on to heat up, you should turn it up all the way, and then turn it down to a little more than halfway between max. and min. Since Min. and Max. are the only indicators on the dial, you must play "by guess by golly". My first cone was a throw-away! It really does take between 2 and 3 minutes and you must check all the time. I may add to this review after I try chocolate cones, but for now 3 stars is all it gets.
