While dissecting a car during an investigation, I borrowed this rescue too from a firefighter. I used it so much that day, I invested in purchasing a set. I’ve since used it on multiple occasions. The quality is great and has multiple uses other than its design.

I keep this tool in the pocket of my bunker pants. I use it in a regular basis. It’s sturdy and well built. If you are in the market for this tool, you already know what it is and what it does. Not much more to say about it.

I use these on just about every MVC/MVA if we can't get to the battery easily, cuts through battery cables with absolutely no problem at all. The hose wrench works ok in a pinch but it is a little bit cumbersome. The gas shutoff tool works well also. It's definitely the tool I pull out the most.

I use them for work as rescue cutters. They are a bit heavy compared to the 911 blue handle ones, but definitely a shorter handle. I wish the metal was a bit stronger, as they are not made for cutting steel cable. I use the accessories almost daily.

Our son - a firefighter - loves it. He's an EMT too and it has a few uses that way as well, but he asked for this as a gift when he was in his 1st year with the dept. It lives in a pocket of his fire suit and he says it's very useful.I've been a lifelong user of Channel Locks. My father loved the brand and I was always taught to buy American tools when I could and those with the best warranties. These check both boxes. While I have never broken a pair of my Channe locks, I have used inferior brands (knockoffs, really) and they slip, won't hold, and feel cheap. I have had to leave a project and stop using another tool and go get my Channel Locks to finish the job.One other use for me. When I am not allowed to carry my gun or even my knife of a decent size... no one ever questions a pair of Channel Locks in your pocket!

I purchased this for Firefighting, and so far another couple of people in my firehouse have gotten the same tool. It does many things really well:It's a formidable wire cutter, pry tool, natural gas cut off, hose wrench as well as a great glass punch if needed too.It is a bit heavy but small enough to fit into all of the pockets of my bunker gear and if anything the mass helps do what you need to do and give you an affirmative feeling when you use it.

Hold up unreal well! I’m volunteer Fire and I use at almost every call! Wether has shut off or cutting batteries or prying or using spanned wrench! Works unreal! Just little bit of oil everyonce in while and they work great! Constantly getting called over at calls for them! Fit nicely in bunker gear and not too heavy but extremely durable

Bought it to throw in my bunker pants. It fits well for sure not too heavy. Typical well made quality tool from Channellock. Cuts the newer lighter gauge battery wires without struggling too much. Tough to cut thicker cable with it due to the shorter handles. Wish they would have made equal length handles..the grip would feel better with a bit more leverage. The jaws have to open wide to get a bite so it doesn't fit well in smaller spaces and the grip ends up feeling weird. I understand they made this to fit in bunker pants but definitely sacrificed some comfort and use. I also thought the prying end would have been great for pulling off door plastic but has a very blunt end. I ended up filing it a bit and it opens stuck windows well now too. Overall awesome concept and I will certainly have them for a long time. 4 stars only because I had to tweak it a bit.

Great product. Though you dont get the leverage you have with the full size model, this is small enough to stay in your pants pocket, or turn out pocket, whichever you have it in. I will gladly use extra force with a tool if its in my pocket when i need it, rather than on the ground because it fell out after my first 3 steps. They also removed the "window tool" tip from the edge, but with the weight of the product, if you cant break glass with this tool, you might want to back up and rethink the situation. While i prefer the 88`s personally because of the end, they 87`s make cutting cables easier. I strongly recommend this product because it is in your pocket when you need it. Depending on preference and SOP, you might consider some florescent paint, or reflective stickers to put on it, incase you do drop it at night.
