I have literally layed out miles of walls with these when building skyscrapers. I wouldn’t buy any chalk box without an aluminum gear ever again. The plastic gears that most chalk boxes have get too caked up with chalk after a while and then it’s more difficult for them too spin against one another which causes them to strip out. The aluminum gears last for years before that happens.
