The angle guide clips will not hold the large size round file at all, and barely holds the middle size round file. After two or three strokes the clips that are supposed to hold the file pop off. The instructions are a joke. No, I've never tried to sharpen a chainsaw blade before, but my electric chainsaw is low cost so I'm not too worried about damaging it. Nevertheless, the instructions that come with this are practically useless. The manufacturer needs to provide a video that describes and shows exactly (and I mean exactly) how this specific set is supposed to be used.

This is a pretty basic sharpening kit. For the price of $14, you get a few options which are good to keep in the field or for occasional home use. I don't use my saw often, but it's nice to have this on hand for the few times a year I do use it/need it.If I used it more often, I would buy a more robust kit, but the price is hard to beat.

There are better quicker systems out there to sharpen your chainsaw blades. But this does fine in a pinch and, honestly, this is how grandpa used to do it, right?There's something about sitting down and just taking your time, one tooth, one blade at a time. Kinda like a form of relaxation. If you see it this way, this will be a fine set for you. If you're impatient and want something different, move along.Definitely don't bother with the included instructions. Get on YouTube before starting with this if you haven't sharpened a chainsaw before. You'll save yourself some frustration.I hope you liked my review. I always try really hard to write reviews are are candid, honest, and helpful for your shopping decisions. No AI here... all the poor writing is mine and mine alone! :-P

Basic sharpening kit for taking in the field. Sharpening any chain is not fun but necessary. I carry this with me to quickly de-burr a dull chain but ultimately this is not somethign you would want to use to sharpen multiple chains. TIme consuming.

As far as chainsaw sharpeners go, you can go worse, or you can go better than these. The price point however puts it at the low end of market.Getting four files, a handle and two guides in a carry pouch for $14, you can't expect fantastic performance.These will get you out of trouble if you know how to sharpen a chainsaw chain. If you don't then I'd suggest something either that does the alignment for you and quality (pricey) or just pay someone to do it.They are great to leave in your truck just in case, as a backup. They will do the job, but not as well as other products or for as long. However, as an emergency pack, its a great choice.
