The drill really should be variable speed, with a lower-speed option, as a higher-speed driver will be too fast. Time will tell how well it wears, but it is fundamentally solid, being made of steel, and noted as being plated for rust-resistance. This is noted as being suitable for 8-11 gage wire (especially aluminum wire, but also softer steel wire). Twist wire ties are NOT included with this tool. The primary twisting points inside the tool are created from two high-hardness steel dowel pins. If persistent use creates additional comments, I will update this review.

This cable/wire twister leaves a lot to be desired. The processing if the metal is pretty rough and there are minor jagged edges. I am not sure if I want to try my luck about not getting scratches and cuts.
