CV didn't let me down. This center channel is the perfect compliment to my AT-15's. My weak-link has been eliminated. Especially voice in movies is great.

I wanted the best center channel but didn’t want to pay $300+. Looked at Polk and Klipsch but both were at least $300. Was surprised to find such a nice speaker for only $239! I am upgrading from a Pioneer C-22 which is considered a good budget center. The CV produces very clear dialogue. I am able to turn the volume up much higher without any distortion. Just make sure you check the measurements as it is quite large.

What hasn't been said...great speaker, incredible value at $200 Yada Yada. It's all true. I'll say this, if you prefer a very bright center, you may want to look elsewhere. But that's just splitting hairs. For everyone else, save a couple hundred bucks and just buy this one. You'll be glad you did

Absolutely Amazing!!!!!!I recently replaced a 30 year old a/v receiver, the sound quality was awesome with the new receiver. So I wanted it to sound even better. My center channel speaker was Bose, replacing it with Cerwin Vega. Absolutely fenominal. Sound quality is outstanding. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. The vocals and the bass quality for a center channel speaker, Absolutely Fenominal!!!!!!!!

At lower volume these do not sound good at all for centers, Turn it up loud and they are great. I have 30 year old 15" 3 way cerwin vega towers and the SL surrounds and same holds true for most cerwin vegas, they sound better at higher volumes.

This speaker is absolutely a hidden gem. For the price you won’t find a better speaker. I was skeptical at how good this speaker would sound being so cheap and never really hearing much about cerwin Vega center channels. I was given an older CV with dual 5 1/4” woofers which is also surprisingly good. Based on that I figured I would give the sl45c a shot.I have tried Klipsch rp450c and 504c, Polk audio csia6 (current), infinity alpha 37c, Elac 2.0 6.2c, and a few others. This ranks at the top for best value and is right next to the Polk as my favorite. The Klipsch has 4 woofers as well but is way to bright for me, this speaker is the perfect balance of being clear and loud without being bright. Had I bought this first I wouldn’t have bought anything else. I am going to keep this and the Polk. I will be buying one more sl45c and keep one in my bedroom setup and switch one in and out with my Polk csia6 home theater setup.I am impressed enough with this CV to try some more CV speaker for my garage and bedroom setup. May even possibly buy a third sl45c for the garage and swap it out with the infinity. This speaker is not as large as many centers. It is wide but not too deep or y’all. What I like most about it is it being sealed. I prefer sealed centers for home theater. The Polk has dual 6.5” woofers and is ported. I provided more bass than this center but can be boomy at times. This center provides adequate bass and is very clear.I’m not staying this speaker is perfect, but after trying so many centers ranging from this @ 149 to the Klipsch retailing at 750, this had such a good value it can overcome some of its weaknesses. Each center I have tried sounds slightly different in certain areas. This speakers has good mid bass and clear dialogue which is at my ears like. For reference I run a Yamaha RXA2080 receiver. I’m glad I gave this center a shot and I will be giving CV. More chances in the future.

SL-45C was purchased to replace a Sony center channel that had no business being in my setup to begin with. I owned CV floor standing speakers 20 years ago, so I knew what to expect. Well, for the current price being under $140, pre-usage opinion tells me this is a winner considering the 100W sad excuse of a center I'm replacing. Package showed up on time, in 1 piece, and was hooked up before porch pirates seized the moment. The sound from the CV SL-45C is the missing piece to my 9.3 setup. The .3 is the 3 subs I have in the otherwise 9.2 configuration. The goal here is to show the lads in my area that their car audio may wake me up at night, but my home audio setup will wake the dead. Achieved! This center channel speaker is great if your looking for a big, eye catching conversation starter. I recommend waiting until someone asks about it, answer with your favorite song, then watch this sell its self.

I had an extra 3-way 15" stereo speaker that i was using as the centre channel in my home theatre setup. It was rather "boomy" and unnatural. This speaker is much better, esp for voice, which one usually hears from the centre channel.

How to say this? This CV center channel speaker sounds fantastic but is easily twice as large as I thought it would be. I bought it to replace a failing old Boston Acoustics cheap center channel, but seriously you'll need a fairly large space in your AV cabinet. Or in my case, the little shelf above the TV which had had the BA speaker before is going to need some refitting before I feel totally safe with the new unit. I should've looked at the product dimensions; it's 6.5" high, 7.5" deep, and 27.5" long, and weighs about 20 lbs.The original shelf is holding, but I ain't comfortable with the noticeable sag. If you have your TV on top of an AV cabinet, no, the SL45C will not fit in front of it like most standard soundbars will. I ended up ordering some Polk center speaker wall mounts and will put those up as soon as I receive them.Setting aside the "holy crap, this speaker is huger than I thought it'd be" issue, I have zero complaints about the sound. It's crisp, has excellent range, and made my Dolby Digital/Surround/Atmos audio rendering issues go bye-bye. Sound at both high and low volume is good, too, and impressed with vocal quality. I also pipe music audio through the receiver from my computer via Airplay, and the difference is remarkable.Would I buy again? Perhaps, although obviously I might've gone with a smaller model.
