It's the correct thread size and pitch, as it should be. It cost a little more than the other Amazon competitors, but I noted that some of the cheaper versions were either incorrectly package (not the size on the package) or had an incorrect thread count. The outside of the die s larger than the die holder on my smaller set of dies. Luckily, I only needed it to chase some messed up threads and used a wrench to carefully start the die. If starting from scratch, I would recommend having/buying the proper tool holder.Pros: Precise and correctCons: A little pricey compared to the competition. May need to get a larger tool holder to use it.

This die managed to save the threads on my compression meter gauge. (It first contacted the piston of a small engine = my bad for not choosing the shorter adapter). The first threads were severly damaged and needed to be re-machined and cleaned. This tool made short work of this in no time. Tool is now back to normal operation. This die is hard to find locally and a new compression meter even more expensive to buy. Buy with confidence.
