I utilized this tap to clean head bolt thread holes on the block of my 1991 ford ranger 3.0 v6 Vulcan engine prior to installing new heads. Perfect fit.

I needed this to retap the crank in an ls I had built and failed to realize there was a flex plate bolt broken off in it. It worked great. Seems to be a quality tap i can add to my box. Also I recieved 2 in one order so it's nice to have a backup.

This tap worked on the intended task. Seemed to cut good, working threads that mated perfectly with the bolts.

So far, I've only used it to clean up some existing threads that were pretty messed up. The tap is still sharp as ever, but the real test is cutting new threads, but that's for another day. This is a replacement for one I broke from a good quality set I have. The broken tap was not abused but I neglected to use oil while tapping when it broke. Over the years I have come to believe in using oil for drilling and tapping in metal. I can tell you it does make a difference; you'll get cleaner work results and your tools will last longer.

This is a good tap for the money, a quality product with sharp edges that cut well. would recommend it.
