There is NO bubble wrap packing done by Amazon!! Not put in a box with bubble wrap, just thrown into a Amazon envelope. Sending a expensive piece of glass half way around the world. Very, very poor shipping by Amazon.

WARNING‼️ some of your non Celestron eyepiece lens will touch Barlow lens. I got this yesterday and it’s going back today. Thankfully, I read some reports from you guys and this I found that most of my eyepieces Hit the glass. Thankfully, I put the first piece in so slowly, and it actually looked like it had seated all the way. When in actuality, it was less than a millimeter from seating so it would appear that it was seated, but it was actually resting on the glass and as I slowly wiggled it, it circled around wobbling around I should say because it was touching lens to lens. Wow that was a close call. Had I just drop it in both would have been ruined. I then proceeded to grab a couple of other pieces and found the same results. it’s very nice and it’s very light. I was so excited when I first held it in my hand. Sadly, it is not compatible with my collection.

Product arrived a day in advance!!!! High quality build . I would use it tonight, but we have cloudy skies. This 2" BARLOW will help me with my telescope eye fatigue.

I bought the celestron 2.5x barlow to do some planetary work. I looked over a number of reviews and have to disagree with them on several points.Weight - the barlow is not heavy. weight is similar to a typical eyepiece if not lighter.Build quality - quality is quite acceptable. I would call it good.Exterior - is polished, metal with a rubber friction ring for grip and handling. I prefer a dark exterior but that is just my preference.Style - fits in with the other Celestron Luminos equipment. I would rather a simpler style but this is what is available.Optically - acceptable, clear images, not distorted. The telescope, eyepiece and equipment you use with this will certainly factor in to the optical performance. I am using a high quality triplet refractor with good 2" eyepieces. There are better barlow lenses out there but at a higher price point. So in summary, At this price (i got a discount) i consider it a very good buy, and certainly acceptable for my uses.

An important rule to remember: When it comes to adding anything to your optical path in astronomy, don't shop "on the cheap". You will be sorely disappointed with the results. If you can afford a Televue, do it. If not, the Celestron Luminos is the best bang you can get for your buck. 4 elements. This thing is not only gorgeous for visual observation, but it's outstanding for astrophotography. Strongly recommended.

Very decent quality and price. The Next Step Up is close to three times the price from Baader. Seems to work okay with all of my lenses from 10 mm to 19 mm. No annoying artifacts in most viewing. You just have to be aware of atmospheric effect that you can't do anything about other than to wait for better seeing or travel to lower light conditions. I live on the top floor of a condo looking out over a lot of Green Space with no direct lighting so the seeing is pretty good.

When you hold quality craftmanship in your hands you simply know it. it has weight, precision and beauty. Does it work well?... of course it does, you just bought quality! And you dont have to spend exuberant amounts of money to get there in this case. Same with eyepieces, the near thousand or more dollars EP's are way over rated. A Luminos EP, or Meade 5000 EP still in the low hundreds of dollars range will get you to where its no longer discernable (noticeable) between super expensive good quality and just 'affordable' good quality. Don't be fooled. Quality and performance are hand in hand in this case...and don't lose sight of what your looking at (pun intended), your observations of things in space are going to be the same with something comprable to Luminos or meade 5000.dave

Truly what I wanted. Have an 8 inch Dobsonian and a 28mm deep view lens, great light capture but always wished I could get in closers with a 2 inch eyepiece. The 1.25 isn't as enjoyable for me.. of course I was worried about losing light and increasing distortion as those of you reading this are too I'm sure... let me put you at ease, this is amazing. Truly amazing. Turned it on onions belt and got perfect views of the nebs on the sword. Great close ups of jupiter, perfect clarity, perfect flattening across the lens with no awkward edge distortion. I was really happy with tonight's stargazing and this has definitely been the purchase I hoped it would be. If your on the fence, buy it. If your not even in the market for thos.. buy it. Just buy it. You won't be dissapointed.
