Got this when the chain pull switch for the light on one of my ceiling fans failed. Pretty straightforward installation, but getting everything stuffed up under the canopy without anything rubbing against the motor took a couple of tries. Made sure that both receiver and transmitter were set to the same code, but what I didn't anticipate was that the transmitter is compatible with a 20+ year old Hampton Bay receiver I have installed on an different fan, so it operated that fan instead of the one intended. Had to do the job over to change the code on the new transmitter and receiver. Watch out if you have more than one remote controlled ceiling fan.

Needed to replace the wall switch and just set the dip switches to the same as the old switch and it worked fine

I was using the Lutron Maestro solution to control my ceiling fans which operate off a single pole, but they discontinued them and finding them (at an affordable price) is getting harder and harder. It seems if you don't have separate light and fan load lines in your switch box these days, then there is no real solution for you unless you are okay with having a manual remote that usually gets lost somewhere around the room.On the other hand, I was using the Insteon FanLinc solution for my fans where a 2/3/4-way switch was present, but that too has pretty much become unreliable since the shake-up with that company. As much as I like having smart home control over my fans, I really just need a solution where I can control a ceiling fan from the switch location in both single and multi-location situations. So far this solution seems to be working fine. It uses a standard canopy module to control the light and fan. I can have multiple wall switch controls operate in unison to control a fan (or fans) in a room. Only time will tell if the modules and controls continue to work fault-free, but so far these are welcome until I can find a better solution to my problem. Would recommend.

I would only recommend this product to people that have a need to repair that specific ceiling fan just as the Amazon page says. >I like how easy it is to set up. Don't let the "dip switch" section overwhelm you. The switches just have to be set the same on the controller as the receiver module. >I like how everything I needed was included with my order. I happen to own that fan so great fit. Instructions provided made installation a breeze. This item functions as intended. I feel like it is a good value for my money. >As far as quality is concerned it is still in operation, only time will tell. Good quality. >I have to point out that the word "remote" is used to reference the wall mounted switch, not wireless remote control. This is a good value if you are an owner of the exact ceiling fan that this kit replaces.
