I had to try. I could envision walks around the neighborhood with my orange boy happily watching birds and squirrels while safe behind his bubble window. My cat does not share my vision. Oh, he was curious enough, even poking his head in and having a good sniff before retrieving the treats I put in there to draw his attention. Hours later though, when I attempted to zip him in when I saw him sitting in it (he fit, so he sat), he quickly squeezed his way out before I could finish zipping. Before leaving the room, he turned and gave me a questioning look I took to mean, "Lady, what were you even thinking? We've been together for 12 years. Do you not know me at all?" I think perhaps he associates it with his travel carrier that always means either a quick trip to the vet or an 8 hour drive. If you've got a kitten or a much younger cat, perhaps they'll be open to this new experience, but I think it's asking a bit too much of a senior cat. I'm glad I tried though.The carrier itself is very well made and it was comfortable when I tried it on, sans cat, to adjust the straps. Unlike another buyer who said the carrier arrived smelling of cigarette smoke, mine had no odor whatsoever besides the slight "new plastic" smell from being in a sealed plastic bag, and it dissipated quickly. There seems to be a sufficient # of vents, with the one zippered side screen panel adding even more air flow. The side pocket seems pretty redundant since there's a big zippered pouch on the front just under the bubble window. I think it would be better if that side pocket had been another screened panel/window instead, even if only one of the screen panels had a zipper. While the inside space is probably adequate for a cat up to maybe 10-12lbs, I think my 14lb orange boy felt a bit cramped in there, even though the curved bubble window does expand the space somewhat. There's a separate, stiff "floor piece" that fits into the bottom to give it a flat surface with some stability but I can't tell if that piece would stand up to washing should an "accident" happen. The zippers work smoothly and the straps & buckle bits seem adequately long and strong. I only wish my boy liked it.

The product seems to be of great quality however it reaks of cigarette smoke. The smell is so bad I doubt that I will ever use it. I didn't pay for second hand smoke!
