I had a lot of fencing to install. I bought these after I used them at my friend's house. They work great. The head flange is strong and large enough to hold well. I wish the softwood screws were longer. I will be buying more as I have a lot of fence to replace from hurricane Helene.

Love how versatile they are; you can have the plate vertical or horizontal. When you have the barb on the wire close to where you are attaching to the post, you turn the plate so it is not impacted by the barbed wires, effectively securing the wire to the post!No need to drill a pilot hole first based on my use but the posts in my first use are well seasoned. (Old)You might consider using a hammer to tap the end of the screw into the wood but not hard at all. These are much more effective and simpler than the fence staples. I highly recommend this product! The product is not cheap but I consider the value for the money to be good considering it's effectiveness and ease of use.

This past weekend, my wife and I put up about 150' of 6' tall welded wire fencing. She had never put up fencing before and it's been almost 30 years since I hung wire fencing. As you can imagine, there were a handful of false starts and do-overs before we figured out how to hang the fence at the proper height and tension. I am certain one of us would still be in the ICU and/or halfway through the initial retainer to a divorce attorney if we had tried to hang the fence with staples instead of these cat's claw thingees. These bad boys go in fast, hold tight, and - most importantly - are easy to take out, reposition, and re-use if you happen to have messed up or changed your mind about how the fence goes. They literally go in just about as fast as you can sink a screw and hold the wood way better than a traditional smooth shank staple. I'm gonna use these for all of my future wire fencing projects. As an added, unexpected bonus, the re-usable nature of the fasteners and their strong grip made them handy to use to fasten the tail end of the fencing to the wooden strongback that was attached to the comealong I used to tension the fence. Once I was done, it was super easy to dismantle the strongback and set it up for the next hunk of fence.A few notes on why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars:- They are very expensive. I used almost two whole containers (~340 fasteners) for 150' of fence with fence posts every 8 feet. As a DIYer, I didn't mind spending a ton of money on these fasteners since I'm only hanging wire fence a handful of times in my life. The ease and speed of use were well worth the cost. However, if I was doing a lot of fencing or was trying to make a living at it, the cost would become prohibitive. I'd probably opt for a combination of cat's claws and old fashioned staples, or get a staple gun that could handle big staples.- At 2" long, the screw goes all the way through the flat face of a dimensional 2-by piece of lumber (i.e. 1.5" thick). So you'll have to deal with the tip pointing out the back side, or not care about that.- The diameter of the curved/circular piece/disc is larger than I expected it to be. It's so large that, if you're not very careful with how you place it, it can splinter the corners of the wood when sunk into the narrow (1.5") face of a dimensional 2-by piece of lumber.- Also related to how big the discs are, and only for people who care a ton about aesthetics, the discs are so large that it's easy to tell when they haven't all been sunk in the same orientation. If you're going for a super-uniform look on your fence, you have to hold each disc in the same orientation when you screw it in.The bottom line is that these fasteners work fine and will last for a long time. There are just a few unusual issues you need to pay attention to to get everything juuuust right.

Husband was happy with this product and the size of the container went farther than we expected. A little pricey, but the convenience of being able to adjust if needed was well worth it.

I've purchased these twice and had great results using them. I installed 800 ft of welded dog wire for a chicken run and they make attaching the wire to the post a breeze. No more pinched or smashed fingers fooling with metal staple. They are especially handy when the wire is a bit too far from the post because you can push everything together and fasten at the same time. Turns a two person job into a one person job. I must admit they are a bit pricey but worth it in the long run. Great Product.....

Great for fence work on corner posts a lot easier than hammering staples

I use these coupled with staples when building my fences. These help hold the wire in place since they screw deep into the post in the event the staples back out when the posts are drying out, due to heat, etc. Highly recommend.

Was not a 100% sold on these but after installing my fence this last weekend I am now!!!!!!!!They are sharp and grab the wire and do exactly what you would expect them to….If your hear vs a FB post this in a genuine product and even has the tip to mount in your drill with a magnetic end…My only complaint is I had to drive them slow… because they are so sharp that if run in fast they just drilled out the wood… but slow they sunk in and folded the proprietary CAT washer perfectly around the wire and into the wood!!!! I will take pictures if I can update this review…

We installed nearly 400 ft of fencing using these into 4x4 pressure treated posts and cedar poles. They are easy to use, gripped the wire fencing well and are still in place and holding well 6 months on.

Do they cost more than staples? Yes! You can’t reuse a staple, or the fence you stretched and stapled - in my experience, but you can re-use both with these. You need to move your fence? Way easier with these. You will work faster, so what is your time worth?Made in Montana! Don’t buy the cheap knock off’s when it comes to these or none of us will have what we need to work later. They are gold in the field.I’m just a user with fewer fence problems now, nobody paid me, and don’t endorse things that let me down. Good stuff - right here, so buy from them and keep em going.

It’s pricey but way easier to work on a fence without help.
