This device works great it's a life saver. Made of very durable metal, and is very strong for pulling out the grates.

The TAILGRILLER Cast Iron Grill Grate Lifter is a great tool for the outdoor grilling enthusiast. The lifter is made from cast iron . . . Just like my grill grate . . . So I don’t have to worry about it buckling under the weight of a heavy, rocket hot, grill grate if I need to add lump charcoal or smoking chunks mid-cook. The business end of the lifter is tapered enough to get in between the bars of many brands of grill grate, but the grid on my Vermont Castings gas grill were too closely set together to allow the lifter to get a good purchase. The lifter worked fabulously on my Big Green Egg!

I have an older Weber Genesis and this works great for lifting up the metal grates. I was cooking with a pack of wood chips directly on the burner last night, and when the time came to remove them, I just used this tool to easily lift up the hot grate and get the chips out of there. It's got a very nice weight to it so it makes a good counterbalance to the heavy grates. I'm sure it would work great for a thinner charcoal-style grate too.

Well-built, heavy-duty cast iron grate lifter. It is a little over 9 inches long and has a curved handle for comfort. There is a leather strap at the end of the handle so it can be easily hung on the side of the grill. I am using it to lift the 3 grates out of a DynoGlo grill. One of the grates is used for searing and it has diamond-shaped holes. The lifter fits well inside that grate also and lifts it with ease. I have also found that I can slide the shelves on my electric smoker in and out when I am placing or removing food. Overall, I am well pleased!

Prongs were too thick to fit between the bars of my CharBroil gas grill gates. Otherwise, the lifter seemed to be of decent quality.

This is a good grate lifter that I use on both my Kamado Joe Classic, Joe Jr., and Big Green Egg grates of various types. It'll lift both stainless steel and Cast Iron sear grates easily. It grabs and holds well. I like the leather strap on the end that allows me to hang it on a hook on my Kamado table. It is heavy and the slight curve allows you to comfortably enter into the grill area, grab the grate, and remove it without burning yourself in the process. It is made of cast iron and will rust if you leave it out in the rain. Just keep it oiled and in the dry and you will be fine. This is a good option to grab grill grates.
