The bits are sharp, require less sharpening than HSS tools. Changing bits is simple but inconvenient at times, the two piece aluminum handle can be a comfortable length for all users. It's a great tool, just wish it came with 2 bit tool mounts.

I was hesitant at first because I’ve only used traditional turning chisels. But I am so happy I bought these x they could not be easier to use. Perfectly sharp and easy to change the bits. Beat part is you can turn the edges to use a diff side before discarding. Highly recommend these. The pic is of the first project I made with them a candle holder for a gift. Love these.

I haven't seen this much quality in a product in this price range for years. Everything about the lathe turning chisels, from the case to the carbide tips, is absolutely outstanding.

If you're just learning, or a hobbiest these are perfect. The variety of bars and blades... amazing...the price insane!!! As a professional, I use them when doing traveling, they come in a nice strong case 😊

I’m a “traditionalist” so for the past 15 years I’ve used only the old chisels that you have to keep sharp. I saw these and thought the price was very good - I expected them to be cheaply made. To my surprise they are very sturdy. I’ve used them for about two weeks on about 20 small to medium bowls using various methods. THESE THINGS ARE GREAT!!! I use the round tip most of the time but all of them seem easy to use. AND NO SHARPENING!!!

I use traditional lathe tools. My wife has shown an interest in turning a few small pieces like pens. These carbide tools are much more forgiving for a beginner IMO. This set really does all the basic functions. You can spindle turn with the round cutter and flatten easily with the square. The pointed detail diamond shaped cutter can also be used to part. You can also use them for cross grain bowl turning on small projects. The curved hollowing tool’s cutter head is too small IMO. They should have used the same size circle cutter as the main tool. All of the parts go together easily and lock in place. They feel solid for mini or midi lathe work. The other benefit of carbide is you don’t have to sharpen them. This can be really slow down a beginner without access to a bench grinder and the experience to sharpen their tools. I caught the large set on sale for the same price as the basic kit. I am very pleased with the value for the money spent.

I was impressed at the quality of the tools supplied. I have other more expensive carbide turning tools and this set to all appearances is of a similar standard. One big disappointment though :( - the set as advertised stated that it included a full set of spare carbide cutting tips (4 in total) however these were not included in the package shipped to me. This needs to be either deleted from the description or they check that the cutters are included as this will cost about $40 to buy another set of spare cutters!
