When using our Auto Compass Ball, please note the following:
- The position must be away from all magnetic objects, otherwise the reading will be inaccurate.
- If the pointing is not accurate in the car, usually due to magnetic interference in the car, change the position and slowly find a suitable one.
- Since the magnetic field is different in each region, a deviation of a few degrees is normal.

I placed the compass in my wife’s Subaru. There were no instructions to set the compass towards the correct compass point. When she drives east the compass shows north. We still have the compass in the car hoping it corrects itself.

I've had this silly little thing for years. It sticks well, works well, and once you find the position that's right for you, you never have to move it again. So when your GPS says "head southwest on 11th street," if you're directionally challenged, like I am, just glance at the ball, find SW, and go there. Presto, change-o!
