I guess the compass is cheap so perhaps its usefulness was predictable.It looks good, it is light weight, but as a compass it is totally useless in my installation, which is on a dashboard with radios and electronics a few inches below. The adjustments to counter installation magnetic fields have no impact. Sometimes the direction is 90 degrees incorrect, sometimes less, but never correct.

I originally ordered this compass which wound up indicating everything was west. I tried to return it and they said keep it and we will send you another. When I finally got the second one, it reads south and barely moves. I will be sending them both back and will order from another Amazon site. Very disappointed as this was easy to read and just what I wanted.

This was hard to figure out how to calibrate for use in our car. Directions were unclear. Bought for husband. He doesn't use it.

I tried setting the north and east, as stated in directions, but it didnt work. Id go back and check what should have been north and every time it showed a different direction - but never north. I tried to set it over and over, but it seemed to show just a random direction every time. Disappointed, i liked the look
