It was packaged well. Seems these get dinged up depending on how they're shipped. This company put big blocks of foam over the ends to protect them. Bar came looking perfect. Solid bar too, bearings feel smooth, knurling is good but not too aggressive. Would recommend.

The tube it came in was sturdy, and the bar fit fairly snuggly though it could still slide back and forth inside of it a fair bit.. this was unfortunate as there was no padding in the ends, something like foam or even paper. This led to the edge of one of the ends being a bit banged up. Not bad enough to be unusable or even enough for me to really care, but enough for me to leave a review so others would know. Otherwise seems like a good bar, probably worth the money.

This bar is incredible value! It has a good texture for where your hands should be placed for bench press and deadlifts that really help with maintaining grip, and is capable of holding at least 350 pounds without any give in the bar. I have yet to load it up more than that, but the quality is there, and I’m sure it could maintain over 500 lbs. This bar has been a great addition to budget home gym, and I’m incredibly happy with the performance for the price. You will not find a better bar for the price, and I looked extensively. Just know, that the packages it comes in is extremely awkward to deal with and hard to remove. I wasn’t able to remove the packages end caps without completely shredding the cardboard apart with a thick knife. Otherwise, this is an excellent barbell and a steal at its price.

I bought this bar 4 years ago from Amazon.ca and it's as straight and true as the day it arrived. This bar was almost 1/2 the price it is now and even at that it's a great bargain. I routinely drop this bar doing snatches, cleans and failed squats with low bounce bumpers and it still spins like a top and has no signs of damage. Don't judge this bar by it's name alone, it's about the best bar you'll find for under $300 with a thousand pound rating. If your looking for a cheaper utility bar to fill out your home gyms bar options I'd recommend CAPs Beast to anyone. Over 500 workouts and mines still kicking.

This bar has lived up to my expectations perfectly so far. I have only had it for a week or so as the UPS shipping was incredibly slow but customer service was very helpful to deal with. The bars grooved sleeves seem as though they would wear most plates down or be worn down themselves after enough usage as my weights seem to grate along when being loaded. The bar has amazing knurling that provides a great grip and the bar appeared just as shown. The snap rings on the end are a huge upgrade from most box store hex bolt bars as they will not need to be re-tightened after use. This bar is perfect for beginners as it has a large weight capacity that cannot possibly be reached by anyone new to weightlifting and I can see this bar lasting a very long time. My bar came with a slight chip on the end and I would recommend looking it over if you decide to purchase this.Edit: wrote this in 2016 and it’s now 2021. Bar is still going strong! Very slight bit of rust starting to show through but I live in a very humid place. Be sure to read more recent reviews to see if quality has changed but I can still see mine lasting years to come. My bar definitely doesn’t do this shaving thing that other people are apparently seeing so either theirs are defective, they’re incredibly rough when putting on plates (just lift them up slightly so they don’t grate, boom easy fix) or the material has changed. This was the best buy I could have made at the time! Was somewhere around $160-180 at the time, well worth it but the price is beginning to rise enough to compare to other products. May still be worthwhile but make sure to keep your eyes open

This bar might not be considered a high level bar as some of the others out there that costs twice as much if not more but after using this bar for a month I don't doubt the quality of this bar one bit. At nearly $160 shipped (which I don't consider cheap) I think this bar is very comparable to higher priced bars out there and a much better value for the price. So what else do I have to say about this bar...PROS:- I love the black finish. It's a bar, but it just looks so nice. Yes, over time it will start to scratch up but who cares, if you're trying to get bigger, stronger or whatever you shouldn't be worried about that.- Some reviewers have complained about the knurling being too aggressive but after using it for month I feel it's just right. On other bars I've used when I do lifts such as deads as I start to fatigue I tend to start losing grip and would have to readjust my hands the last few reps. However, with this bar I haven't had that issue. I also like the fact that the bar itself doesn't have a smooth finish so even there's very good grip on the non-knurled sections as well.- It's rated for 1,500lbs. I will never be able to push that kind of weight and I don't know how accurate that rating is but I don't doubt this bar can handle very heavy weight and can take abuse. Not only does the bar look nice but it's built tough as well.- The ends are capped. Anyone who has ever used bars where it's an allen type bolt with the ends exposed knows the issues those can have.- Price and value. Again, for the price this bar is well worth the money. It'll be nearly impossible to find another bar as tough and rugged as this one without paying nearly twice as much if not more.CONS:- It won't look as nice over time. If you use it and a lot, wear and tear will be more noticeable than your typical silver, chrome finish bar.- Some may not like the threaded sleeves. I myself prefer the sleeves to be smooth but that wasn't a big deal to me.OVERALL THOUGHTS:This is the best bar for the money. There really are no cons as the ones I listed and what I've read in other reviews are more so personal preference. In terms of the value and quality of this bar you can't go wrong.
