This lens was designed with smaller APS-C sensors in mind, and when joined with a full frame EOS R camera, automatically enables the 1.6x crop mode. It offers 100% x 100% Dual Pixel CMOS AF coverage for APS-C sensors, and 80% x 80% Dual Pixel CMOS AF coverage for Full Frame sensors (in crop mode). The small size of the RF-S18-45mm and clever lens retraction mechanism lets it fit just about anywhere, making it a great lens to bring with you on a walk or wherever the day takes you. The lead screw-type stepping motor (STM) helps ensure smooth autofocus and quiet operation, letting you capture videos with great audio and minimal background noise so you won’t distract your subject in a quiet photo environment. Optical Image Stabilization provides up to 4 stops of correction, and up to 6 stops with Coordinated IS. This advanced image stabilization can result in sharper photos with minimal blur, even in low light situations. When you add all of this together, you get a wonderful, lightweight, and versatile lens that is designed to fit into your life.

This little gem arrived this morning and I couldn’t wait to try it in the discription it says auto focus but I didn’t see any switches so I’m thinking I’ll try it for the price but I don’t usually do manual focus unless it’s over 500mm so I got this little beauty this and while my wife was making breakfast I was taking pictures of her with this great little lenses on 18x in our little kitchen I couldn’t believe how clear and sharp this lens is and yes it does have auto focusing and hits it dead on I couldn’t be happier thought of sending the 24-55 I got back but with the foul up by the shipping company and the fight to get that my first lens for my new R8 I guess there will always be sentimental value to it I bought the camera body only and for the first I got the 24-55 I grabbed it thinking it would beat the camera here but I got the camera and no lenses yet to fit it borrowed my wife’s effect-s to R adapter to set it up but some things won’t register without a RF lens so I was happy when it got here! After the struggle was over this cute lil 18-45 shows up this morning and knocked my Sox off and you can believe what it says about auto focus it’s there just no outside switch the camera controls the lens I like that it makes sense and one less opening in the lens body for moisture to seep in and fog the inside of your lens. They have been nitrogen sealing rifle scopes for years not sure why they don’t do camera lenses the same. This 18-45 is a great buy and you won’t be disappointedCharlieC.N.O photography

Got this today. Came in a plain white box encased in bubble wrap and nothing else. The lens looked absolutely brand new. Not a fingerprint or smudge to be seen. I put it on my R7 and walked around town.I came home and transferred the pics to my PC. Wow!!!I'm no pro. I just like taking pictures. After I looked at the images and printed some out, I felt as if I had ripped someone off. It was the best $94 (with tax) I'd ever spent.I wouldn't be surprised if this lens is my "go to" lens. Unless it fails me somehow, it'll be on my camera unless I need a different lens for a specific application. Right now, I'm really impressed!!!

It does everything it’s supposed at a much better price than anywhere else! I recently got a Canon EOS R10 and this was exactly what I needed for it!It works great with autofocus.The sharpness and clearness of the pictures is beautiful.It’s not to large to easily fit into my camera case.It’s not to heavy to carry around, it’s honestly great. 😊
