I mounted the lens and received the message "Mount Lens Correctly" and assumed a defect. Subsequent research indicated this was probably because the lens needed to be unlocked by turning the zoom ring - not needed on my other lenses. Unfortunately, I triggered a return prior to figuring this out - my apologies to Al's. I t would have been nice if there was info somewhere indicating unlocking required.As to the lens, wanted light weight with some zoom - seems fine for that, but fairly slow an no built-in stabilization.

I DIDN' T EXPECT FOR Canon RF24-50mm F4.5-6.3 is STM TO DO SO WELL WITH FLARES AND DIRECT LIGHT. I'M HAPPY TO SAY THE PHOTOS CAME OUT BETTER THAN EXPECTED. I CAN SEE ME USING IT MORE OFTEN IN THE FUTURE EVEN IN LOW LIGHT. I USE IT IN COMBINATION WITH MY CANON RP FULL FRAME CAMERA. IT'S A KEEPER!

For the price point compared to the market it's a good lens for a broad level of zoom. The aperture is a little high but it's good overall. As a renewed product it's fantastic and feels new.
