These frames were the successful end to a tedious search for streamlined, all-wood floating frames of good quality for my oil-on-canvas portrait paintings! I needed 12 x 16 -- and I needed them quickly! Thanks to CANFRAVAS and Amazon Prime, I ordered only yesterday and am am now almost ready to submit the framed works to a student exhibit -- but the quality of these frames reallly would be acceptable for a professional :D. hi Lee, recommend this frame I was looking for a wooden type unique frame that didn’t cost a lot to put one of my photographs that I transferred into canvas of a recent concert that I went to, and it fit perfectly the sturdiness of it the lightness of the coloring it’s a wonderful piece if you’re looking to not have a professional do the work for the quality that you can put in yourself. One of the pictures up there of the corner is the one of the wood is this frame, which is beautiful the other one that’s in the next to it which is a light blue metal was a professionally framed one that caused over $150 years ago this frame I did all by myself came attached everything and I paid less than probably 35. I think it was so I highly recommend this company that they definitely advertise and give you exactly what they offer.

- I ordered this for a canvas piece I have had for a while (See photos, painting of my dog--cute, right?) The canvas is stretched over a thin board and is approx 1/8 inch thick for photo reference. You order the size frame according to the dimensions of your artwork. Mine is 12x16" and you can see from photos that the frame is sized to leave about 1/8" of space around the whole perimeter when you place it in the frame.- When I ordered it wasn't clear from the product page just how the frame would look with my artwork mounted inside so I have included a lot of photos to give an idea of the finished look. With artwork in the frame what you see if a minimalist raised wood border. very simple.- The frame is lightweight, but made with real wood. The wood has a nice visible grain appearance but the light weight suggests a softwood, so it'll likely dent of you drop it. Does make hanging simpler though. the inner surface depth is 13/16" so if your canvas artwork is thin like mine it will sit deep under the outer rim of the frame which gives the finished piece some depth. If your canvas artwork is stretched over a thicker frame the artwork might sit flush to the frame which is even more minimalist.- The depth of the frame measured on the outer surface is 1-3.8"- This frame is not intended for use with any protective glass like what comes with metal and wood frames intended for use with photographs and mat boards. It is designed for artwork that is rigid and needs no support to remain flat. It might be possible to place a photo or paper drawing in this but you'd need to mount it to rigid board of some sort before putting it into the frame.- This item was $30 at the time of purchase which I felt was a little higher than expected for a very basic frame, but the workmanship and finish are good so probably worth it. At a lower price it would be a bargain.
