I have used the TR3 600-lb model rated to 8000 lb on a 4800-lb travel trailer. Once it is dialed in the hitch is relatively easy to use, has some thoughtful features and is quiet. However the assembly that goes into the tow vehicle hitch weighs 51 pounds without the heavy spring bars--I can barely lift it. If one towed most of the time then it could be left on although it sticks out 17 inches so maybe not.The initial installation is complex with inconsistent printed vs. video instructions. I had to call the manufacturer to figure it out. Plus installation requires a 260-pound torque wrench which not every DIYer will have. They make 5 different strengths of spring bar that correspond to max trailer loads of 6k to 15k pounds--the load must match the trailer. I'll give it 4 stars for build and function with the caveat that a special tool, strength and ability to follow instructions are required.

I did some research And went with this one because of the eazy pin bars (no chains). Also the quiet anti-sway puck/brake style system. It dose work, noticed big difference from tight allen adjustment to lose adjustment on sway brake.

As of 11/2024 I have had this WDH for several months and many miles. This is my 3rd hitch (different brands) ...had a Husky Centerline TS - which performed well with a lot of noise. The Andersen WDH had it's pros - being half the weight of other hitches and was super quiet - just did not distribute the weight that great. The Camco Eas-Lift TR3 gives the distribution desired and is super quiet. Downsidecon is that it is heavier than the Andersen WDH. Another con is somewhat vague instructions on the anti-sway tightness needed - I just cranked it down. If you want good weight distribution and quietness, this might be the WDH for you. The model numbers are slightly confusing - the the 400 is good for tongue weights up to 600 lbs....noticed the same on other model numbers....600 good for 800lbs tongue weight and so on. Just pay attention to the specs of the hitch needed vs the weights of your trailer. Overall, I am happy.

I was using the curt weight distributor hitch and had to use the sway bar. I got tired of having to take it off when backing in to a camp site or our driveway at home. This was a huge game changer for me. It’s quiet, easy to install and so much quicker to hook up and go. Build looks good. I’m not sure of the longevity of the break pad material for the anti sway but it sure gives me comfort in the towing now. I’m 69 so I’m pretty sure this hitch will out last my towing days.

Seems like a good receiver but it didn’t come with all of hardware and mounting brackets for the sway bar mounting.

with my 6500 lb trailer and 3/4 ton truck, was easy to install, couple of videos filled in what instructions lacked, did buy a bigger torque wrench, love the hitch. very easy to hook up, easy to adjust anti sway.had no sway issues, in 1000 miles or so.

This product was a bit of a pain to put on although it’s super easy to use once all measurements are completed and dialed in.Amazon sent a used product that was sold as new. The hitch mount and ball were used with some rust and worn paint. Both bolts has worn marks and one was stripped. I had to spend an hour in the shop filing and repairing the bolts so they could be used. It was also missing 2 washers and the lock washer. That all said, it seems to be a great hitch. I’ll update later as I’m driving through Los Angeles and about 1000 miles with the Grape Vine back and forth.I’ll have a very good idea of how it performs.

This is my third WDS over two travel trailers and two different trucks. I bought this one because I bought a new truck so I thought I'd update to a new system. So far I have had it 7 months and put about 2,300 miles on it over 3 trips, so I felt comfortable giving a review on it. Keep in mind that I am very picky about trailering...I install my systems myself and I make sure I am as perfectly level as I can be after it's finished (i.e., both truck and travel trailer). This is by far the best system I've had so far. No need to raise the trailer with the trailer jack to engage the torsion bars anymore, and the 'brake pad' sway control is very easy to adjust and makes no noise at all. It's heavier than my old system so it's a little harder to carry to the hitch and mount, but that's a minor thing--i.e., the old system was about 90 lbs and this one is about 105...15 lbs isn't much when you are already manhandling that sort of weight anyway. My wife and I put about 5,000 miles a year on our travel trailer, so if this one holds up in perpetuity, which I think it will, it is by far and away the best WDS out there.
