First off mine came with one bad battery. Suspect the plastic strip got moved and allowed on to drain or maybe just defective battery.I like that it can be set horizontal and zeroed, or vertical and zeroed and the angle measured from there.Comes in a nice fabric pouch with belt loop. The display is large with a green backlight. All in all very pleased with this unit. I have used it to on multiple wood working tools to check perpendicularity and to measure the grind angle on some wood carving knives.

This device has helped numerous times to set the exact angle on my table saw and my miter saw. I just started using my wood chisels in a more precise way and was able to get an exact angle on them also. I have had the device for 21 months (just shy of the 2year warranty) and it stopped working. I called their support line and I got a real person almost immediately. After a brief explanation of my issue the person said "no problem, throw that one away and we'll get another out for you today". And they did!I really like the Angle gauge for many things and for the excellent support.

UPDATE: I contacted the company about the dead batteries and the calibration issue and they shipped another unit to me right away. Every company has an occasional issue with a product, but the good companies try to make things right, and this company did just that. They were courteous, responsive, and get a new unit to me right away, so I'm upgrading their rating to a 5-star rating. They earned it.Original Review: The magnetic base is good and holds fast in any position. The display has large numbers so it's easy to read except in strong sunlight (as most screens are). Being able to measure relative angles is great. This is certainly handy, but it's not perfect. If you place it right-side andthen upside down on the same place the angle should be the same, but it's usually off just a bit. It's within the tolerance listed so it's acceptable, if disappointing. There more that was wrong...The product page says "Printed user's guide includes all operational features and how to set calibration if required," but there was no printed user's guide with it. I did find a PDF user's guide that I can print out, so maybe if I set the calibration it will read the same upside down as right-side up.The product is supposed to come with two long-life batteries, but the batteries with the unit I received were dead on arrival. I pushed the power button and the screen would flash on then go off. I tried a few times and got the same result. I thought the unit was broken until I hit on the idea to try new batteries. Once I did it worked, so the "long-life" batteries didn't even last from the factory to my house.Given the lack of a user's guide, the dead batteries, and the difference in angles from right-side up to upside down, I can give this no more than a three-star rating, even though I actually do like it.

It’s a really high quality item. It’s not the cheapest, but it’s something that you’ll only buy one time-so just get this one because it works. The magnetic base sticks well, and it’s very accurate. Excellent for setting up anything where you are looking for high precision.

There are a couple of good reasons for this tool, and its price is better than the value of the tool. Let me first say it did give me a scare initially. After I opened the tool and removed the battery saver, some how it stopped working. Once I opened the case and readjusted the batteries, it worked just fine.I enjoy its feature of being able to use relativistic comparison angles. It does a great job in being able to tell me if the blade of my saw and the table are square, or if the drill bit and the drill platform are square. The only real issue I have is it needs to have a bubble on it to tell you when its too far forward or back while reading side to side. This makes a difference, and can mean the difference of a couple of degrees. The magnets are strong and adhere very well. The buttons are a bit too flush for my taste, but seriously its a good tool for the job. I am very happy with it.

Purchased this product to see how it compared to the "old fashion" bubble system. I have to say it is a wonderful tool. Unlike the bubble system, I find myself adjusting more often for precision due to the fact that now I have numbers, vs a bubble that most people won't care if it's a hair off (thanks to my OCD). The tool is lightweight yet feels well put together. The magnets do come in handy when trying to use both hands while working on metal surfaces. Batteries do last, as I have been using this digital level now for a few months, and the batteries are great. Great buy!!

I tried both the Neoteck and the AccuMaster, both were equally functional and equally accurate after calibration. The Neoteck was more than $15 less, and I was very tempted to keep it. However, I need these devices to measure relative angles when tightening certain bolts with a torque wrench and a swivel socket, and that is where the difference became obvious. I found the magnetic base of the AccuMaster to have a far superior grip to the Neoteck, with the magnets being considerably stronger. The Neoteck performed admirably in all aspects except for its magnetic grip when compared to the AccuMaster: using a long 1/4" extension to torque some difficult to reach valve cover bolts, the AccuMaster stays wherever I place it on the extension; the Neoteck slides down to the valve cover making it impossible to read accurately. Now, this may or may not matter to you if you are using it on flat ferro-magnetic surfaces, but clearly Calculated Industries has speced out a strong set of magnets for their product from what I can tell. Remember, the magnets in BOTH products are in the base only, not the sides. The readings invert when the unit is inverted for an easier read.Bottom line, for my purposes the AccuMaster was the keeper for the applications I need it for.
