Connect 4 WD Red Pro 4TB SATA drives to Supermicro H11SSL-NC onboard SAS. Like that it is one connection to drive vs two, a bit cleaner looking.

There are 4 ports at one end of this cable, not one of them is correcly labeled. This is a rattlesnake waiting to bite you, Connect a drive to a port with the wrong label and you can fail an array and spend days recovering, assuming you have a good back up.In the era of 20 plus TB drives no one needs this much grief!Quality has not be first, This is not first rate quality. You can loose days if you don't have corrctly labeled ports. Maker seems uninterested is correcing the labeling. And it only took them a month to investigate the problem and agree that a problem does exist. Their solution appears to be - post a review that says the ports are mislabeled!!!! Brilliant? Not really. A fix would take a minimal amount of time for the seller per cable, but no, they are not fixing it. The buyer bears a huge time loss oppertunity, seller does not care it is your time. Stay away, Wish I knew prepurchase what I know now.

The cable is working fine,. It looks to me the numbering on the cable is in reverse order.

This product works fine and the cables are plenty long for installing drives in even the biggest of cases. My complaint comes down the the 4-pin connectors. I have always disliked 4-pin connectors because due to how easy it is for the pin to get pushed out the back of a plug, and these are no different. Even with the pins aligned properly just a gentle push to mate the connectors was enough to unseat at least one pin on each connector. Save yourself some heartache and get a cable with sata power, that’s what I’m doing now.

This is an affordable and reliable option for anyone needing 1M long SAS cables. I use these cables in a professional workstation which includes a Supermicro X10DAi motherboard, Adaptec RAID 8805 RAID controller, and six Seagate 6TB 12Gb/s SAS drives in a RAID 5 configuration. I was able to achieve sustained transfer rates of 1.1GB/s and 960MB/s while copying ISO images and other large files (several GB). I was able to transfer the contents of multiple drives to my RAID array without any IO errors.Additionally, it was much easier to route the sheathed cables through the tight spaces of a computer case compared to unsheathed SATA/SAS cables. PRO/CON, the mini-connector lock is 'extremely' secure. I could not unlock/disconnect the cables using my finger alone. I had to remove the RAID card and push down on the cable lock with a small flat head screw driver. This can be a pro or con depending on your circumstances. Overall, these are excellent cable that I would recommend to anyone needed reliable cables at down-to-earth prices.
