It works great much better than I had expected! It only slowed down a little with a 4” branch! Cuts up into small pieces that are great for mulch. I just point the chute to the bed. I wish it had a tow hook to pull it and an electric start!

I reviewed several wood chippers before buying this one, EFCUT40. I read the reviews on this and it seemed the smaller ones had more problems. I took a chance on the 40 and have been very pleased with the performance of it. I've put 4" logs thru it without any problem. No jams no dieing out. I used it for about 4 hrs. The blades did get dull. I suggest buying additional blades to have on hand. Took about half an hour to cahnge the blades, mostly due to the learning curve. I've not been disappointed so far. A little on the heavy side, weight, but a beast on chipping.

I've had 2 bad reviews of this thing rejected by Amazon, I guess because I'm not giving it 5 stars...I should have listened to the 11% that gave this thing 1 star. It ran great the first time for a brief 20 minute trial. The second time out, a few weeks later, it runs for 10 minutes, then just quits...then 2 minutes and quits. Stay away from this sorry piece of equipment.

Engine is strong and easy to start. Instructions are vague and it takes some time to learn how to replace the blades for the first time. Yes the thin side does open to access the back side of the blades. Instructions are not clear. The first replacement, the screws are torqued down pretty tight. Will take some extra effort. Instructions require you to own a torque wrench for the reinstallation of the blades.Once you purchase the chipper the guide will tell you a new blade set will only last 1 - 3 hours of use. Which is about accurate.I have been able to sharpen the existing blades, unfortunately haven’t figured out the right grinding angle to make them as sharp when bought new.Overall it does the job well. Just allow additional time in project estimation for blade replacement.

The chipper has more than enough power to tear through 4" logs, starts on first pull, and is easy to assemble due to detailed instructions. More importantly, the customer service is amazing. The company provided me with an upgrade kit free of charge.

Multiple aluminum bolts and washers are either stripped, sheared, or just didn’t have the correct placement to mate up. I spent over two hours on assembly and eventually gave up as some of the integral bolts and pieces required for this to function are not accessible to be tightened or they are already stripped out. I’d love to give this a higher review, but I’m not even able to get past step four of general assembly because the engineering behind this is not sound! I will likely spend a half day trying to disassemble and re-engineer this just to make it work, when it should’ve been ready to do so out of the box!*UPDATE: I’ve returned this item after numerous messages from manufacturer, none of which were to refund or make this right. Instead, they offered me a new blade or new bolts to suffice, which don’t actually fix the issue! The item has been picked up and taken back by Amazon, yet no information, status, etc. If I don’t receive the refund in a few days, I will be seeking legal remedy, as even Amazon didn’t seem to understand that the item was defective and unsafe, NOT that I had received two and wanted to return it! Apparently, this manufacturer has a good deal with Amazon and can’t be held accountable!

It arrived with a dented pull start assembly. I reached out to support who sent the exact replacement parts needed after I registered it for warranty. Parts came quickly and haven't had any issues yet. Support has been good, and in my first few runs it has been a great chipper.Update 7/10/24 - after 2 starts it stopped working. Been going back and forth with support for 2 months and they're sending more parts. Support has been responsive and helpful, but sad that after 2 months I still don't have a working chipper. I was hoping that after this much time they'd just replace it since I received a damaged unit, but it looks like I'll be rebuilding it piece by piece as support sends replacement parts. Changing to 2 stars since it's not working yet. I'll update again if it starts working.

works great, easy to start, and makes short work of brush and small limbs. chips are small but large enough to use as decorative mulch. only issue was some screws didnt fit the way they are supposed to but they really didnt matter anyway. over all an excellent buy.
