Sorry if this review is TMI, but I'm a newbie chipper and wasn't sure of what to look for in a chipper. It took me 4 years to convince myself to order this. My short advice is...Yes. Order it but don't have unrealistic and grandiose expectations that you are getting an Asplundh Tree Service truck.I ordered this on a Saturday night and it arrived the next day Sunday afternoon. Bravo Amazon!Item was delivered by a larger amazon truck with liftgate service and hand trucked to my garage. The driver required a code that was emailed to me...try to have that ready for delivery. It came in one box that weighed about 90#. It was packed well and had no missing parts and no damage. Assembly was very straightforward with good instructions and exact parts in well labelled bags...Took me maybe an hour with only a socket wrench, crescent wrench (and pliers for the wheel cotter pins). It was truly an easy, "no swearing" assembly.Parts are all solid thick steel. I was kind of expecting something a bit cheaper reading other reviews of chippers in this price range. But this unit isn't cheaply made. Overall, it was probably a bit smaller in size than I was expecting. Although its one of the least pricey gas chippers on the market, it is a serious tool.Once assembled, I filled it with about 1/2 liter of engine oil and about 1/2 gallon of regular gasoline. All in all, zero complaints with the product, delivery and assembly. Perfect.Assembled, the chipper was easily wheeled to a job site. (Its a bit heavy to dead lift, but you could probably load it and it would fit into a minivan or large SUV with another person helping to lift .)I usually don't read the manuals, but I wanted to be able to safely operate this machine, so I took a few minutes (10-15 mins) to understand all the switches and controls. Worth the time. There was at least one typo in the manual (it is made in China, after all). The brand new motor started up literally with one pull and then idled smoothly. I was cautious at first, so I didn't give it much to handle. Fairly quickly, you will get a pretty good feel for the machine's capabilities. As a homeowner/chipping novice , I sorta didn't realize that when it says 3", it doesn't mean a 3" diameter log, it really means circumference. I will post some pictures when able, but I would estimate that this unit can handle branches up to about 1.25" of true diameter with little trouble...Dry pine branches went thru easy...Harder woods went thru just as well, but slightly slower with engine working harder. Wetter/greener branches tended to shred a bit more. Ultimately, I didn't try anything that was more than 1.25" inches in diameter and it handled them perfectly. Straight, hard branches worked best. Stringy small leafy branches usually needed a little coaxing to go thru. The output throw was maybe 3-4 feet The unit didnt come with any kind of bag. The output spout height is relatively low (maybe 3' -3.5' high), so its hard to direct output into a tall barrel or trashcan. I used my lawn tractor wheel barrow just tipped up to catch "most" of the chips. Not a huge issue for me but you might consider where the chippings will be spit out to ensure that you have a suitable receptacle. The machine was very stable and didn't bounce or move around when chipping.Overall, I am totally satisfied. I've used it for about 2 running hours and zero issues with this machine. It wasn't nearly as noisy as some people have commented, but you absolutely need to wear some hearing protection. Occasionally, with larger branches, a stray small chunk bounced out of the intake chute, but that's the main reason for eye protection. Absolutely wear good gloves. I had a tendency to touch the machine's very hot exhaust shield to stabilize when I pulled the starter cord...Yeah, don't do that. Wear good thick/leather gloves and don't touch the exhaust shield when the machine has been run recently. If you have fairly large branches that you need to chip, you probably will want to go up in size...You just need to have realistic expectations of the size branches/wood you need to chip. This is a great machine but you aren't going to feed a big tree trunk into this machine. For me, it is a perfect "gateway drug" for chipping and once you are hooked on chipping and if you have big stuff to chip, you'll soon want to move up the biggest machine you can afford.I rarely give great reviews because I usually find something to be ticked off about, but this is a10/10 rating. I love this machine so far, and actively looking for more stuff to chip (....no, landscaping stuff. you know, stuff around in my yard, just to be clear ;)Will add updates with more use and longevity....

Amazing chipper, blades are very easy to change! We had a large oak tree come down during hurricane Helene & what a mess it made. Having to carry the brush to the street for FEMA pickup was a big undertaking. This chipper helped tremendously by shredding all of the 2.5 & smaller limbs. It will take 3” limbs but struggles to do so. I have 12 hours on the machine at the time of this review.Having sharp blades / knifes is absolutely critical to the chipper operation. With hard oak limbs we got about 3 hours per set of blades. Changing the blades is fast & easy after you do it once. When the machine stops pulling brush through & branches begin to bounce in the hopper then it’s time for a blade change.Make sure to have some oil on hand, unit takes about 19oz of 10w 40. Change the oil after the first 4-5 hours of operation & then every 50 hours & the Rato Honda clone engine should last many years.

I think overall this chipper is of good quality for the cost. NOTE at the time of this writing replacement blades are unavailable, and I tried everywhere. When I say unavailable, I mean "reasonably unavailable". I did order the only available set yesterday here, but the arrival date is in 43 days, the end of September! For a seasonal piece of equipment that is ridiculous. Blades I ordered were Landworks LCE12 but look like they will fit, no dimensions were offered in the description.Note: The original blades will dull fast if your slash has any soil, sand or gravel in it. Rocks or metal such as staples or nails will chip the blades making them impossible to sharpen properly. Actually I think blade design could be better as there is no room left to create a new edge. As your blades become dull you will notice that you have to push branches into the receiving chute as duller blade edges will no longer pull them. However blades are fairly easy to replace as there are two access ports with only eight easy to access bolts.Starting is easy, one pull, if you use the choke. The unit will vibrate as expected which is helpful when tossing small items in the chute. I would check all the bolts for tightness after some use because of this, for me one was not tight. When something becomes stuck within, as to not let the engine turn or pull start, there is easy side access, four bolts. ** Always Take The Spark Plug Out ** when messing around with any moving parts! If you only pull the plug wire the motor could still diesel, or even a dead decompression stroke can cause injury.

I haven't had a lot of time on this machine but after reading the reviews I felt it was worth a shot. We live on 5.5 acres and there are always limbs falling from storms and unwanted brush popping up. We've rented small chippers before and the cost can be from $80-$150 a day. Not just the cost but the chippers we've rented had semi sharp to dull bladed so we weren't able to effectively chip much. AND, there's no reimbursement even if the blades were so dull you couldn't chip anything. With our own machine we can easily remedy dulling blades and ALWAYS have an effective chhipper. The package arrived within 3 days of the order and was very well boxed. Assembly took about an hour by myself. All hardware was correctly marked and nicely bagged for identification. The instructions were pretty straight forward and the manual listed them step by step. I do actually read the manual and the manual for the engine before starting it the first time. After I filled it with oil and gas I was impressed it started on the first pull. I chipped a few small branches and was impressed with the operation. This machine is the Efcut C30 Mini and I like that it comes with a measurement rule on the hopper so youll know the branch size and it also had a wireless hour meter to help keep up with maintenance. Another plus!I won't really get to test it on bigger wood for a few days but so far I am impressed with this mini chipper.

From day one it wouldn't allow me to turn the choke off without also killing the engine. I managed to run it about 3 times on half choke but now doesn't start. I always had it covered/protected from the rain. Always used high octane gas. Now it doesn't start at all. It does appear to do a good job when it worked. So sad. I need this right now. I can't wait for a new one. I'm disappointed since the reviews were pretty decent. I'm trying to contact the company now so I will update based off of that outcome. I will update my review.... So far they are accusing me of using bad gas... why would I ruin something this expensive??
