We ordered one set without checking the presser and the pressure was for 65lbs. Too strong for our RV doors. Re-order with 25 lbs and worked great. Will use the first ones for the outside storage bay door.

They were well worth replacing. Cold weather would cause my old struts to leak down. These new struts keep the back glass door on a camper shell up with no problems. I use my truck to feed animals on our farm. Too many times there was a close call on the hatch closing before I wanted it to. These struts work.

The struts worked great on my SnugTop camper shell but the extension arms are about half the diameter of the originals. Given the fact there's no lateral force put on the struts in this application, the reduced arm diameter (and I assume reduced strength) shouldn't be a problem. The struts still appear to be more than strong enough for use on a camper shell gate. The only complaint I have is with the retention spring clips on each end of the struts. When I tried to pull the spring clips out with a screw driver (as per the instructions), the clip rotated sideways and one end became stuck in the pivot housing. This happened twice and I had a hell of a time getting the stuck end of the spring clips pulled back out of the housing. I tried everything, (screw drivers, pliers, a sharp-pointed awl) but by the time I finally got the end pulled back out the spring clips were bent to the point they no longer seated as intended once the struts were installed. I was able to get the clips pushed down enough with a pair of pliers so that they look like they'll keep the strut in place on the pivot balls. Contrary to the instructions, I probably should have tried to just push the struts onto the pivot balls without pulling the spring clips out. That probably would have worked and once the struts are on the pivot balls the spring clips can't rotate sideways because the ball posts block the movement. So, removal from the truck shouldn't be a problem down the road. I'd recommend trying the initial installation without pulling the retention clips out. If that doesn't work, try carefully working the clips forward toward the end of the housing rather than pulling them straight out. That seems to work much better.
