This fire blanket is well made and easy to deploy. This is a must own for kitchen safety. It will smother a fire in no time flat! My wife tries to set the stove on fire at least once a month and I am there to thwart her schemes with this baby every time!

I never thought my pan of Olive oil would ignite on it's own while heating up. I just wanted to get my onions chopped to add to the pan and when I turned the whole pan was in flames. My blanket was handy and had the fire out in seconds. No damage to the microwave above the stove or any cabinets. I bought one for the house, one for the RV, and one for each of my children. Such a small price to pay to prevent extensive or disastrous outcomes.

I hope I will not need to use it, but somehow I am confident it is useful to have ready in the kitchen .

I bought this as a REPLACEMENT, I actually had to use it to put out a lantern fire, it worked just as it should, it smothered the fire. Unfortunately I did it with my bare hands, so I got fiberglass on them, but better than the alternative. Thanks for a great product.

I have not, happily, had occasion to use this product for its intended purpose, so I cannot comment on how durable or effective it is. But if it is half as effective as a fire extinguisher I am all for it, since it is a lot less messy and does not require training and recharging. It folds up compactly and comes right out of the package when you pull the tabs, ready to use. One thing to be aware of, which I learned when I called a family meeting and we all practiced using the fire blanket (on a nice cold stove), is that the fiberglass fibers shed, so when you hold it in your bare hands it is like handling pink home insulation, i.e. irritating to the skin.

I have NOT had to use it yet- thank goodness. But I am giving it a 5 star review because it is such a great idea. I have 2 fire extinguishers and honestly if a fire broke out in my kitchen - I would not know how to use them. This is such an easy thing to use so now I feel more at ease incase I ever do need it.

I keep it in a cupboard over my stove so it is handy in case of a fire. No chemicals, no splash, no mess - starves a fire almost immediately with little fuss. A fraction of the price of nationally advertised item and exactly the same.
