This tool holder fit my tool post nicely, it was well machined and the threads were clean and snug. Some have mentioned the extended dogs on the set screws, but I ground them down a little and they're fine now. For this price, I expect to do a little cleaning up, and this only took a couple minutes. The tool slot is machined cleanly, and accurately, the faces are parallel.Overall I'm pretty happy with this tool holder and will order three or four more.

Nice fit and finish, fits the dovetail accurately. The setscrews seem to be good steel, unlike many import holders have. But they are dog-style screws and the dogs are longer than needed, which takes up some of the thread engagement. I ground the dogs down to about 1/8 inch length, flattened and polished, and now the setscrews are just right. Very happy with this holder and the cutoff holder I bought from the same vendor.

These are well made, and very sturdy. Less than half the price of big name brand suppliers. Be aware if you order more than one , you may receive two different versions .

Bought 2 identical holders for an Aloris tool post. One fit as designed, the other did not. Machining of the dovetail was not as deep on one holder as the other and consequently would not slide on the tool post. Other than not fitting, the finish is good, hex screws are typical off-shore quality allowing the hex wrench to slip (cam-over) when tightened. I routinely replace these screws with "bolt store" quality fasteners and have multiple years of successful use. If you need a holder for boring bars, remember the model 201 has a flat bottom where the tool is clamped, whereas the model 202 has a groove in the bottom for holding a round boring bar.

I recently bought a lathe with few accessories. These tool holders fit well, are sturdy, hold the cutting tool firmly and are a good value. I recommend them and have taken my own advise and bought more!

I bought 3 of these a couple weeks ago. I just bought 3 more. They are well made, and the price on them is the best I've found. They fit well. They are great for mounting and configuring a tool for a quick change. I highly recommend these. The only negative about them (and it's the same for all brands of these), is the rather marginal setscrews that are supplied with them. For starters, they are way longer than needed, Next, they have a weird end that the last 1/4 inch or so is not threaded. It doesn't matter much if you are using 1/2 inch shank tools in the holder, but for 5/8 inch shank tools, it means the setscrew is so far out that only half the threads (of this probably marginal steel in the first place) are engaged, thus increasing the chances of stripping the screw or holder threads if tightened too much. Third, the female hex head is poorly formed from marginal steel, so it's very easy to either round the inside or pop them right open with your Allen wrench when tightening. I have a couple dozen of these 250-201/202 holders, and I've replaced the setscrews on most all of them, especially when I'm using 5/8 inch shank tools. I've never had any problem with any of the holders themselves.APRIL 2020 UPDATE: Be aware that the current version of these now feature inch-based fasteners They looked like same old quality, but the setscrews and main locking nut are now American sizes. So the 17mm wrench and 4mm hex keys for previous versions will not work in these new versions, and you'll have to keep a new set of wrenches near your lathe
