Any cellphone or laptop these days has a "scientific calcularor" version on it. This one does exactly the same things, But, reasonably priced to have a unit for doing repeated work [think "homework". Not a graphing calculator, but handy and like the TI calclators of yore, it is sturdy. Perfcect to keep in a toolbox or truck glove compartment when it's needed. If damaged or dirtied or cracked for some reason, you aren't out $1000 for a new cellphone!Another big advantage: The battery in it will not suddenly shut it down, like a cellphone will when its battery runs down to a low level.DOWNSIDE: The "carry case" doesnt cover the front.

If you want a simple calculator, this isn't it. Example - let's say you want to see what 5% of 250 is. There is no % button on the calculator (like there is on a billion other calculators) so you have to type the following:250 [x] 5 [2nd] [2] [=]*THEN* you get your answer which is 12.5It's as if the stupid thing had been designed by a Venusian who only read about earth. Just get a simple calculator made for kids or, better yet, use your android or IPhone. It's 2024 and it was simpler to use a calculator over 20 years ago. Insane. It is small and cool looking but, so what? Some cell phones are smaller and are a heck of a lot easier to use. I purchased it for convenience and, for me, it's a waste of money.

These older version of this model are so durable than the new version they sell in stores now. This is the good version. Holds up well in punishing environments being used daily.
