I purchased this with the impression it had a scratch pad on the inside of the case but that is not the case. Also, I cannot seem to get the calculator out of the mode where it converts everything into exponents.

My niece starts AP calculus in January and will need a good scientific calculator. I saw this and had to order it for her.I tried it out and while I don't know any calculus I did try some trig problems on it and other geometry and algebra and it works as well as my old TI scientific calculator but with a lot of nice added features. This appears to be well made, it lasts hours between charges, I used it constantly for 7 hours before it started to get weak. A recharge for a couple of hours rejuvenated it. I am certain my niece will like this as a gift.I highly recommend this for a student

This is a great scientific calculator. The screen is clear, the numbers aren't hard to see, the buttons aren't annoying and hard to push. But the main thing I like about this calculator is the preview numbers above the main input space. It makes more complicated calculations less aggravating and more efficient, at least me overall. 5 stars.

I got this because i'm going to take a lot of math classes and I can't have a graphing calc. I really like it, it's light weight, easy to use and cute. I like that it has a key on the inside of the cover too.

I recently received the NEWYES Scientific Calculator designed for middle and high school students, and I must say, it’s a fantastic tool that goes beyond just basic calculations. This calculator stands out with its 401 computing functions, including everything from fractions and complex number calculations to linear regression and standard deviation, making it an essential tool for any student or professional who needs a reliable mathematical resource. The two-line display is a significant advantage, as it shows both the entry and the calculated result simultaneously. This feature makes it easier to track calculations and correct any errors in real time, a helpful factor during exams or while working through complex problems. The overall design is thoughtful, with a dust-proof cover that not only keeps the calculator clean when not in use but also slides onto the back during operation to ensure it doesn't get lost. The calculator is powered by both solar energy and a replaceable button battery, ensuring long-term usability without frequent battery changes. This dual-power functionality is perfect for extended study sessions or when working in varied lighting conditions. The keys are made from premium plastic, which provides a more tactile response compared to silicone keys, contributing to a more satisfying and precise user experience. Moreover, this calculator is not only a tool for academic purposes but also a practical accessory for professional settings where quick and accurate calculations are necessary. Its portability and protective cover make it easy to carry in a backpack or briefcase without worrying about damage. In terms of user experience, the calculator performs exceptionally well under different lighting conditions, thanks to its solar panel. However, it should be noted that while the solar function is robust, it performs best under direct, strong light.Overall, the NEWYES Scientific Calculator is a well-rounded tool that offers great functionality, ease of use, and durability, making it a valuable investment for students and professionals alike. Whether tackling high school math, preparing for college entrance exams, or handling professional calculations, this calculator is up to the task.

I’ve been using a Sharp pocket-sized calculator for quite a few years until I realized it’s dated 1983 and is considered an antique.Mind you, I paid $20 for it back in 83 (about $60 today) and all it does is add, subtract, multiply and divide. Now I have this calculator that seems to do everything I didn’t learn in school, and then some.Chances are I’ll never use all the functions but I’m sure somebody will down the line.Construction is top notch and the overall design seems to remind me of TI multi-functions calcs from the past. Also appreciate the protective cover!A short while ago I got a calculator, from a different maker, that purported to be solar but was not (they were faking it with an internal battery). So, on this one I removed the internal battery to test the solar panel. In short, in works, although you must have a good amount of light to keep it active. Under the direct light of my LED desk lamp it stayed on and worked, but if I went to the right or left of the direct light, it would flicker and go off; however, that is why it does come with an internal battery. And all this for roughly $7 less than I paid for a basic calculator in the 80s? What a deal.

This is a scientific calculator, powered by battery and solar. It has an included plastic case that slides on and off the calculator. There is a two-line display, so the equation to solve will be above and the answer below. All the functions you'd expect for a scientific calculator are here (trigonometry, statistics, fraction handling, etc). It has answer memory (the ability to recall past answers) and cursor keys so you can adjust entry without re-keying the formula to calculate. The only thing there wasn't to like for me was the text use for some of the on-casing labeling for buttons. The calculator casing is a darkish-blue, and brown was used for some of that text and I found it difficult to read even in a fully-lit room. Most of those functions referred to by the brown text are advanced ones, so it may or may not be detrimental depending on what you're using the calculator for. The labels on the button faces themselves are fine. The battery is labeled L1154F, which is the same as LR44, AG13, 357, 303, SR44, and. A76. The calculator will work solar-only as long as the room you are in is well-lit.Overall a handy calculator.
