I bought this for overlanding and wanted a nice, sturdy, compact shovel. It's even better than I expected! The steel on the blade and shaft are very heavy duty and are welded together on both sides. It has a decent plastic handle. I can already tell this is going to hold up to all of the abuse it is about to receive!!!

The head of shovel has an increased curvature to be able to scoop better, and it is now solid (no more hole near the tip) It looks like all the suggestions and complaints have been heard... picked this one because it's Made in the USA, feels solid and strong.

I use this shovel for camping and around the backyard. It's great for light to medium duty digging and campfire fire management, but it's got a couple things that bug me. First is the hole near the tip of the shovel. I've had the blade crack a couple different times which I've repaired with my welder; I have now completely filled in the hole and haven't had any issues since. They should really remove this hole as there are holes for the handle rivet and those could be used to hang from for paint. The second is the amount of what I'm assuming is weld debris inside the shaft and I hear it every time I turn the shovel over like it's some kind over overlanding rain stick. The handle, although plastic is very sturdy. I would buy again but I would like to see the design improved.

strong looking shovel, good weight and all one piece (welded together)only thing that I would change and I'm not sure why a company would make such a great product and then rivet a cheap plastic handle on the end? Maybe there is a reason for this, but I don't know what it would be.

Les dimensions de la pelle dans la description sont erronées. Cette pelle est très petite, et comparable à une pelle pour enfant. Elle fait plutôt approximativement 7" X 8,5" et environ 30" de long maximum.Pour quelqu'un qui veut une pelle à gâteau ça peut faire l'affaire...! À ce format, elle ne peut m'être d'aucune utilité: je vais donc la retourner.

I originally bought this for gardening in the Spring, then Winter happened here in Portland OR, ice-and-all. Fortunately I had stashed the shovel in the back of my Scion IQ - and using the shovel upside-down to skim ice off the driveway and steps worked famously. The length, at 33-inches, gives just enough added reach plus it's a "third-leg" with the D-handle. Wonderful, quick service, as promised; well-Made In USA product, nicely designed, constructed, welded and finished, unlike some mediocre imported stuff. Consider the cost of this shovel, divide by the number of months/years you own and use it + service, then consider the long-term-value. Please, get back to me in 20-years!
