It's a "plug and play" lamp so use is extremely easy. Works as intended and it only makes noise when a bug is zapped. No frills, no problems

I only had this bug zapper for less than a month and it just stopped working. Ordered on December 6 and its January 4th and no longer turning on. My last one from another vendor worked for over 1 year. I would not buy this again.Update to my previous review. The customer service is top tier. They reached out to me and shipped a new bug zapper. I changed the initial rating of 2 to 4.

This works great for fruit flies and regular house flies too. It's my second one the first one quit after 2 years. Ends up costing less than the traps which are messy and smelly.5 stars from us!

This is a nice size and fits well in most places good that it can be used indoors and out. It works well, although is rather load when it goes off which can make you jump a little as not expecting it. Would recommend.

We live in an RV and for whatever reason the bugs have been visiting a little more often than we would like. Therefore, we have been looking for a bug zapper that will help us eliminate some of this little varmits. We have tried several products to help us with our problem and we finally found this unit that REALLY zaps the little buggers. It's blue light attracts the bugs and then once the bugs get too close ZAP they are gone. The unit itself can be used inside or out. We just happend to use it mostly indoors. We have used it outside and it is just as effective. The unit itself is VERY light weight. It has a door on the bottom that you simply just turn it opens to empty the dead bugs. The only small drawback to this unit is that is only has a 3 foot cord. Obviously, you will either need to be near an electrical outlet to use it or plug it into an extension cord. Either way it's not that big of a deal. We have used ours for about 3 month now and we love it. I think you will too!

Bought this for insane amounts of mosquitos coming in every time I let the dogs in/out. A swarm of about 20 or so coming in every time I open the door because we are next to wetlands. This kills gnats and other bugs, but the mosquitos don't go in. They have no interest in it at all. Apparently they're attracted to carbon dioxide rather than light. It pops and crackles when it kills bugs. This scares the dogs but is oddly satisfying to hear. The dogs got used to it over time. It doesn't feel very stable. It is fine left alone, but the bottom doesn't seem to sit completely flat and it sort of rocks when touched. The cord is heavy in comparison so I make sure it's supported so it doesn't get pulled over. It has never fallen and probably wouldn't, it just creates an uneasy feeling with how it doesn't sit completely flat every time I put it out.

I have a dog that wants the door open when she goes out, or she thinks I’m leaving her. So we’ve had an issue with flies and mosquitoes. I’ve been using this for months now. The problem has disappeared. We have it close to the back door, and I move it sometimes if I have a “smart,” lone fly. We hear the zap when watching tv, in bed, or while cooking. I always feel like, “problem solved!” Easy to clean out. Also have used outdoors during a pool party to lessen bugs getting indoors in the first place due to frequent door openings.

This thing works great... but be aware... we have a lot of knats in FL so this will get full fast and you can empty and clean but after a year we just replaced it with another one.. and the price is so low, you cant go wrong... We bought an outdoor weather proof exstension cord from Amazon... The size of this is perfect... not too small not too big and we run it 24/7 but again you may find you have to replace it after a year... but thats still cheaper than the ones in stores that have the same issues after a year...
