So many range hoods have a manufacturer's nameplate, but this one is nice and plain. Even the light and fan switches are under the hood, but super easy to use without having to bend over. The fan is powerful and quieter than our previous hood. Installation was simple. The LED lights are nice and bright. I like the way it extends out about 2.5" farther than our previous hood so the front burners are covered better. All in all, we are very pleased with both the look and functionality of this range hood!

Overall I am very pleased with this range hood, although it was missing the "included" bulbs and modifications were necessary.Pros: Simple, sleek, manual controls, replaceable lightbulbs, quiet, effectiveCons: MISSING LIGHTBULBS (-1 star for this), difficult to remove and replace bulbs if hood is already installedBe aware of: Electrical connections on the RIGHTIt has a simple design- no digital interface or computerized controls, but rather manual rocker-type buttons on the underside of the hood and replaceable lightbulbs. It is sleek, uncluttered, and easy to keep clean. I love that the grease trap screens cover the entire under surface- old hood had exposed underside that got greasy and was very difficult to clean. The two speed fan is powerful but very quiet. When I turned it on for the first time I thought it wasn't working, as I was accustomed to a freight train-like tumult upon flipping the switch. On the other hand, I was extremely irritated that the bulbs, which were supposed to be included, were absent! I had to go spend an additional $16 on two halogen bulbs. The inclusion of the bulbs was part of my calculation in deciding to buy this particular hood. And though the bulbs are replaceable, they are going to be a monumental pain to replace, whenever that time comes. There is a suction tool provided , as the recessed housing does not allow you to grip the bulb, but there is still the major issue of trying to align the prongs into the socket holes and then twist them into place correctly. If I ever get bored enough (LOL), I will take down the hood and replace the light fixtures with standard ones- should have just down this before mounting. Also be aware that the electrical connections are on the RIGHT side of the hood (as you are looking at installed). My existing electrical was on the left, so modifications had to be made. I had to reroute the black and white wires behind the shield in front and over to the other side to connect them. This then left the wires without a metal cover so I had to use aluminum tape to conceal and secure them to the roof of the hood. The ground wire I attached to a screw in the metal housing.

Replaced my 20 year old range hood, this unit has better suction and the lighting is fantastic. It's still pretty loud on the highest setting.

Great investment with a good price-value. The over-range vent fan/lighting I had before was very outdated (and loud) so I opted to replace it with something a little more modern to address the look, and quiet for my sanity. This over the range hood was well within budget and offered the updated look I was going for. It was very easy to install and the dimensions advertised with accurate. While I did not use the bracket system that came with the product, and had somewhat clear directionz, I did utilize the four holes that were pre-fabricated. They are holding the vent up well and due to its light-weight build, I am not worried about it falling or posing as a hazard if I bump into it (for whatever reason) or if there is an earthquake.Construction: As I mentioned, the internal components seem to be of lightweight construction, probably aluminum as it is very light. Be careful when you move it around during installation and cautious not to bang into anything with it, like the corner of a cabinet, table or coutertop because I am sure the thing will dent easily. Perhaps not the most durable in this sense, however, it is not build to be man-handled or even touched much on that note, so with that being said, once it is up, it looks great!Wiring: I hard wired this myself using the conduit that was in place for the previous vent. I am pretty handy with stuff around the house, but very intermediate with the scary stuff such as gas & electrical... regardless, I gloved up, and got to it. Black to black, white to white, ground or bare wire to provided grounding screws. Be advised, while I did not go through the "whole-9" which I 100% advise you to do, including shutting the power to your house then TESTING that it is off using a digital multimeter, I am still alive, breathing, and writing this review with all ten fingers. I have done several electrical jobs around my old house (late 70's) such as socket replacement etc and felt comfortable with this task. The unit did not come with the two halogen bulbs which would have been nice, but they were an easy buy that I made at the local hardware store. I waited for the unit to arrive rather than ordering them off Amazon to ensure they fit property and were the correct specs. These too were easy to install.Overall this was a great buy. Good, clean look, affordable, and easy to install. Specs and dimensions were true, the fan is so quiet I couldn't even tell it was on, and the lights provide great countertop visibility. Would highly recommend for someone looking to update the look of their kitchen.
