This item is well made and nice looking. Installation was very easy. I had to cut a notch in the upper and lower sheet metal to insert it in my opening, because my natural gas line comes through the wall, right in the center of the opening. With careful measurements and tin snips, it worked out very well... Like I said it looks like it was always meant to be. A terrific buy!

Great quality item to replace my very old vent hood while replacing my exterior home siding. It also matches the color of my new siding which is dark gray.

I bought this after being disappointed by the poor quality of the replacement wall vent cap I bought at the orange big box store. This one is made of heavier gauge metal and is substantially better engineered. Glad I replaced the cheaply made vent cap.

High quality! Perfect replacement for my old range vent that got badly damaged from ice falling from the roof. It slid right over the existing vent duct without any trouble thanks to the pre-cut slits in the corners. It's very well made, sturdy and functional. The vent flapper seals tight and opens well even on the lowest fan setting which is very low. It also opens up fully on the highest setting. The sturdy screen is easily removed if you ever need to remove it and should keep large bugs, birds and little critters out. It also has a really good paint job, and it comes with a parts list and ordering instructions if you ever need a replacement part in the future. It's worth the money.

I was enclosing a deck area and wanted to include a barbecue in that area so needed a way to vent it. I ordered a commercial range hood and then had to decide on how to vent to the outside. When this wall cap became available, I decided to order it and try it. Here is what I found:1. This is a very solid unit that is well made, has an insect screen and a vent close off included.2. I was able to mate it up to 6 inch vent tubing using a adapter. This made it easy to go from the hood and to then vent through a narrow opening I had available in the wall. I have great airflow out of it and no restrictions showing up when airflow is measured.3. Black color made it easy to match it up with the rock I was installing around it.4. Damper works well keeping drafts out.I am pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who has a similar need.

Broan 639 Wall Cap for 3-1/4" x 10" Duct paid $58.29Pricey but good quality. - would have given 5 stars if price was betterI bought this as an exhaust fitting for my range hood. I like the quality, design and finish. Definitely well made and sturdy.I needed a second damper in my range hood duct as the one built into the hood used to bang a lot on windy days. With this installed as well as the original damper this is no longer a problem. Even on the windiest days there is no banging.

I bought this ventilation duct for a custom application, but the general concept is the same as what would normally be intended. My issue was that I installed a portable air conditioner in my office and did not like the cheap plastic window insert that is used to connect the inside exhaust ducting to the exterior. I came across this Broan Black wall cap and concluded that I could cut down the length of the rectangular portion that normally goes into the wall to just 1.5 inches (the thickness of my enamel painted wood insert), and unlike the cheap plastic with no exterior rain guard hood, would also protect against rain water intrusion which in Florida can be an issue as it is usually followed along with high wind gusts. I added a narrow strip of rubber automotive weather stripping to the perimeter flange which was compressed tight when I screwed the vent cap to the wood in lieu of caulking. Needless to say, it worked out perfectly. The vent cap is well built, looks great, will prevent any rain from getting in, and if it worked for me on this custom installation, it would most certainly work just as well in the originally intended conventional installation.

Great, well built product! I"m very happy with the outcome and quality of the wall cap. the fact that it's powder coated adds to it's value too. It looks so much better on the wall than a galvanized wall cap did.
