This product works better than the one we previously were using, and it costs almost half as much. It sprayed on white, like a powder, and washed off the product easily. The one we used before was black and it was hard to see our marks so the white made it even better. The performance and the finished product clarity with this item worked beautifully.

Unfortunately cant get it to work well. Some items I've tried it on looked nice and promising but did come off when wiped or washed. Maybe there is an extra step that should be done to get this to work, but as it stands I can't get it to work well.

I ordered this because I wanted to Mark some coins. Unfortunately I don't know if it is user error or I don't have my machine dialed in for the appropriate settings. But unfortunately it didn't work very well for me. It might be helpful if settings were included.

Iโm fairly new to laser engraving, so I fully admit I might not have my settings dialed in, but I simply couldnโt get this aluminum engraving spray to produce satisfactory results. I tried a range of different speeds and powers with a clean piece of aluminum and no matter what I did, the โengravingโ wiped off easily under running water.I havenโt yet tried this with other materials, but since itโs billed as being specifically for aluminum, thatโs what I used. Iโll keep trying to get this spray to work properly, and will update my review if I do, but at this point, I canโt recommend this product. Iโm giving it three stars to offer at the benefit of the doubt, since I am a novice at laser engraving.

In tested this on several different aluminum blanks and was able to get pretty good results. Because of the size of the blanks, doing a large test grid wasn't really possible, so I had to guestimate a good starting point. If you will be using blanks, as I was, as opposed to marking a large sheet, you will want to order a few extras so that you can experiment and find the best power/speed settings. My application wasn't perfect, but that didn't seem to matter - I was still able to get good color after lasering it. Like everyone else, I also tried it on a different metal, just to see if it would work, but wasn't able to get a mark - I only tried it once, so perhaps different settings may have given better results. This spray is pretty pricey, like all laser marking sprays, so I didn't want to waste too much of it playing around with other metals, since it is made specifically for Aluminum. If you are looking to mark Aluminum, then this spray should work well for you. My only complaint is the price - it's not cheap, but, as I mentioned, all similar laser marking products are pretty expensive as well. If you have a lot of blanks that need lasered, then I would lay them out as close together as possible and coat them all at once, just to conserve the product by avoiding overspray on each object.

I have seen many reviews stating this product didnโt work for them, but I found it to work well under the following conditions:1) Use only on aluminum. Other metals have different heat response characteristics, and this marking formulation is specifically for aluminum.2) Clean the surface well with fine steel wool followed by acetone. Then apply the spray; I typically use 2 coats.3) Use plenty of power. I have a 10 watt diode laser, and I use 100% power with a relatively low speed to deliver the maximum energy to the marking area. If itโs too much (indicated by poor resolution of the text), dial it down a little.4) Rinse thoroughly. I typically use a kitchen sponge with warm water.I have had consistently great results when following these steps.

I have had mixed results with this. I tried it on some tumblers and had great results on an aluminum tumbler, but it did not work well on the stainless steel tumbler. I guess I canโt complain as it does say specifically for aluminum. I have the powder for of this marking medium and this is more convenient. You donโt have to mix ratios of alcohol and this applies more consistently than brushing on. I have found it to be a bit finicky on the settings and dependent on the thickness of the material (most likely the heat applied). Overall this works well for aluminum, but has a learning curve that might frustrate some users. I found the powder to work more widely across different metals compared to this formula which is targeted for aluminum.
