These bottles by Brightfrom are made from Low Density Polyethylene (plastic #4), which is one of the safer plastics to use for food purposes (#5 Polypropylene is the very best, in my opinion, since it can easily withstand heat without leaching), and they are permanently stamped in manufacturing with the #4 triangle on the bottoms.I bought a bunch of the 8 oz. size bottles and am using them in the bathroom to hold oral care liquid products instead of using the heavy gargantuan bottles those products come in. Brightfrom's LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) bottles are really easy to squeeze, and they have really good twist-open caps on top of well-made bottles, and they do not leak!

These bottles feel sturdy; not cheap. I'm using them for white chocolate sauce. I bought a 64 ounce bottle of white chocolate sauce for white chocolate mochas. I needed containers to store the sauce in and freeze it so it wouldn't go bad before I used it up. These worked great in the freezer and the caps stay on when you squeeze the bottle. Some of these type of bottles are so flimsy that the cap springs off when you squeeze it to get the sauce out but these are sturdy and good quality. And the little top piece twists to open and close it. I liked them so much I bought a second set.
