These are not bamboo reeds, they're made from an eco-friendly fiber and they work just as good as the bamboo reeds. They're a little thicker than the normal reeds and a little longer. They absorb the oil nicely and the scent throw is powerful. I turn them upside-down every couple of days to keep the fragrance coming through. I like the color of these reeds for any decor. I use diffusers in my bathrooms and I get a lot of my diffuser refill oils from Amazon.

I like buying and testing out reed diffuser kits and the BLACK reeds are super special; BUT, they are made out of fabric so watch out it you're an amateur. You want the fragrance oil/liquid to be able to climb up the reeds.I make my own scented oils and can make reed diffuser kits for friends and family.

These black reed diffusers have a very elegant and sleek look. They are artificial and made of some type of fabric and plastic, and they soak up a lot of oil immediately. They distribute the scent well, but I wish they didn't soak up the oil so quickly, as I find myself refilling more often.

These reed diffusers I've found to work quite well. As the instructions indicated, I put three of them in a small glass jar with a little essential oil and things smelled great in the space around them in just a short time. I flip the reeds, turning them over so the top is the bottom/bottom is the top, every couple of days which I think helps keep things flowing and is a recommended practice. It says these are synthetic so cannot say how they compare to the bamboo reeds you usually see but based on the past couple of weeks of use I would say these do work just fine. A pack of 48 per box I expect to last a good long time. Recommended to anyone interested in adding fragrant, calming effects to their home or workspace.

I wasn't sure about these reeds because they were shorter than previous ones I've used, and I didn't know if that would affect the impact of the scent distribution. They seem to give off a decent throw so far though. Granted, the diffuser is in a small powder room but so far, the scent is great. I did not give five stars for two reasons- first because not enough time has passed to determine whether they'll be good long term, and second because the black makes it difficult to see how well the reeds are absorbing the oil. The color is certainly elegant though. Give them a try!

Wow - I had a reed diffuser I must've bought in like 2012, and I've never replaced the reeds. I finally decided that the bad reeds may be stopping the fragerence from diffusing around the bathroom and WOW was I right. These quadrupled the amount of scent I was smelling from my old diffuser. I can't believe I didn't do this before!! I actually have a few reed diffusers, for different seasons, so the fact that there are so many in the package means I can replace ALL my old reeds. These reeds are nice and fresh, and really help distribute the scent around my room. I'll update with how long they last, as time goes on. Love them so far!

These do work well with my homemade water and alcohol diffuser, and don't feel cheaply made! The other reviewer is correct that thinner liquid like mine won't last as long, but it's not the biggest deal since the scent is still very much noticeable. But at $8 for 48 pieces, this simply isn't worth it. At the time of my review, there are several other listings for 8 inch black diffuser sticks that give you 100 pieces for not much more than these cost. i would definitely get these again if you got more in the box, because they are good quality!

I started making my own scented oil to save money and reduce waste, so I mixed up some essential oils with a safflower oil carrier in my own bottle and stuck in five of these reeds! I love the way they look and feel. They are an upgrade from the reeds that typically come with diffuser sets. The black really pops and has a higher end look. The material feels more absorbent than other reeds. After turning them a couple of times to ensure they were soaked, I have noticed a subtle scent. I'm glad to have added these to my DIY diffuser supplies!
