Gave this to a mechanic friend, he says it works as described and makes caliper work much easier.

I ordered this brake caliper compression tool to change brakes on my two Geo Trackers in the future when it comes time to change the brakes. The first think I noticed is this tool is heavy and well made. My usual tool I used for compressing the caliper was a C-clamp but sometimes it was very hard to use. This tool was made for just this purpose and should work a lot better than the C-clamp did. So when it comes time to change my brakes I will update this review to explain how it did the job.

This idea is amazing. Exactly what I have needed for years. Wish I knew it existed a long time ago. If you do your own brake pad changes, you have to have this. It makes life so easy. Great idea and great product.

Very solidly built brake pad spreader that is built heavier duty than the factory tool. This one is also painted where it's easy to see/find when looking for it too. This is a good bargain and should hold up well with heavy use. Happy with it.

If you do your own brakes you understand the need to have a simple way to compress the caliper pistons back so you can fit them over your new brake pads. I have a smaller unit that used a ratcheting system and you hand to get your hand between the piston and caliper to push it back in and was awkward. The Reywook Brake caliper compression tool is HEAVY duty. I think it weight 5lbs. Compression is smooth and easy. Comes in a cardboard padded box and I will keep it because it's the best storage container for this tool. Simply slide into the caliper and twist the handle. Solid piece of toll with no add on parts to deal with. Great addition to my auto arsenal of must have tools.

I've been a "shade-tree" mechanic since before I bought my first car back in 1979, and I've done LOTS of brake jobs over the years. Ever since disc brakes took over, the painful part of the job has always been separating the pads and pressing the piston(s) back into the caliper. I'm sure I've tried every possible method to get this step done over the years, including several of the "lightweight" tools from the auto parts stores, but I was never willing to pony up for an expensive professional compression tool.Well, after finishing the last brake job on our heavily used daily driver, I finally decided to see if I could find a reasonably priced "proper" purpose-built tool. And WOW, I really hit the jackpot with this one!The regular price of this universal caliper piston compressor tool is only $40 bucks, and as I write this review It even has a discount coupon on it. This thing is a beautiful tool that is built like a TANK, and it works as smooth as glass. I still can't believe it only cost $40 or that I took me so long to get one.Just order it. You'll be glad you did as soon as you open the box.

Being how well built this caliper spreader is, you can find access from the side, the top or any direction you may want to enter from. The steel selected is extremely thick and well welded, so you have zero fear of bending or damaging this tool. It is also quicker and easier to use than the others I have seen. What this design can not do is latch in and screw in E-brake pistons, so you do still need the special tool assortment for those, but for almost all front calipers, this is what you want.
