I'm a big fan of hitch tighteners. We tow a variety of trailers with a variety of vehicles and I love to not hear that rattling from a loose drawbar. And I like to keep a tightener with each drawbar so you don't have to go looking. And at a price of $10 per, I can keep some extras around.This tightener is solid, the steel is strong and the nuts spin freely on the U-bolt. Since hitch tighteners are basically a brute force solution to hold the drawbar clamped to the bottom of the hitch they need to be strongly built. The rubberising is a nice touch but really has no effect and won't last long in practice.I noticed another reviewer's "rant" about spring washers. My add is that these used to work great "back in the day" and could actually gouge the steel when removed. But if made of cheaper metal then they are crap and open up under load. So if you use them, take a good look after tightening and ensure they have maintained shape.Another comment was that these do not work on drop drawbars. I have several Reese and Curt drop drawbars that extend sufficiently from the hitch to use tighteners. So I guess that comment depends on the brand name and maybe to some kinds of bike racks, etc.

I bought this to stop my hitch from rattling on longer trips with our camper. So far, it is working as intended. It's very simple to use and there isn't really much to it. That said, everything seems to be of quality construction, and it hasn't shown any signs of weakening after being used. Overall, this seems to be a worthwhile purchase and a decent value at this price. It did take me a little bit of adjusting to find the sweet spot, but overall this works well.

The BOYISEN anti-rattle hitch tightner for 1.25 inch receivers is well made but it is too long to fit on the VW 1.25 inch receivers with the VW drawbar (Part Number 11A092730). The distance between the back of the receiver and the drawbar is less than the length of the BOYISEN tightener.
