The hitch tightener is billed as MADE IN USA. That is one of my criteria for purchasing it. To my disappointment, IT'S NOT MADE IN THE USA. In my opinion that is false advertising.

If you've ever towed with a sloppy, rattling hitch.These are a great, easy to install and inexpensive solution.

First of all, GusHill USA shouldn't have to take the wrap for this. I did not receive a new product from the manufacturer. Frankly, I don't even know if it is one of their products! It was sent to me by an outfit called Proven Industries, in a non-descript plastic bag, with no description, installation instructions, or warranty information. It is obviously a used, returned item (see the worn label in photo). To add insult to injury, the nut the right side of the product is "frozen" in place. No amount of pressure I could bring to bear would get get it to budge. I am very disappointed in having been sent someone else's defective product!

This GusHill USA Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Hitch Tightener for 1-1/4" and 2" receivers is very well made. The plate, U-bolt, nuts, and washers are heavier than I expected. It is super easy to install and solidly holds the ball mount, eliminating that annoying hitch rattle or slap, even when pulling an 8,500-pound load. The nuts are 3/4" SAE; either a wrench or a socket is needed to tighten them. The plate is powder-coated well with no chips or scratches.Conclusion: This is, hands down, the best hitch tightener I've used. It has exceeded my expectations, which is my requirement to receive a five-star review. For the price, I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. This is my second GusHill product, and I'm quickly becoming a fan of that brand. So, five stars it is.
