These can go on and come off very easily. I use a giant blue 15 foot, 85 lb kayak and thos works perfect for it.

These saddles and straps are high quality and solid, but they don't work well with my crossbar which is rounded along the top edge. The saddle can't get a firm grip on the crossbar.

As someone else stated in the review, the brackets would not fit inside the t-slot on my rack. This was pretty frustrating considering the hardware they provided fits in the t-slot, but their bracket does not. I had to grab the grinder and grind it down to make it fit in the t-slot. Also, only 3 of the 4 provided M6 nuts were the correct size. There was one random nut that does not fit on the supplied bolt. This made one of my kayak saddles completely useless until I had to run to the hardware store to replace the bolt that was incorrect. Aside from these two frustrating issues, the kayak saddles themselves seem fine and will work after lot of metal grinding and a trip to the hardware store.Edit: customer support reached out to me and was great to deal with. Offered to refund, send new hardware, and also had me send them the pics so that they can better design the bracket.

Overall quality is good. Initial set up requires some work to figure out what will be best to transport kayaks. Biggest issue, see my picture, was that the to slot male part I guess doesn't fit the T Slot on the Elevate rack system. I'm handy so I just grinder down each one but for others who able to make this work this review would be super helpful. I feel like if it says it fits a T Slot it should fit a T Slot. Overall, I think they'll be great though.

This Kayak Saddle is well-designed, sturdy, and built with excellent materials. The crab mount system makes it incredibly easy to mount on crossbars of various sizes while protecting their finish. What truly sets this product/company apart is the outstanding customer service. I encountered a minor issue with one part, and their team responded within hours. A replacement was shipped promptly and arrived within days.Highly recommended!

Carried our 95 pound kayak easily. The crab latch mechanism works great!

We've used these several times to transport our kayak. The kayak is almost as big at the highlander and these made strapping it to the roof so much easier with no fear of it coming off on the highway

These saddles are amazing. The build is sturdy and the black rubber grips any slick kayak very well. I originally had crossbar pads, but I found that my kayak’s curved bottom was getting squished and deformed from the flat surfaces. The saddles create a lovely cradle. It takes some time (40 min for me) to get the adjustments. I have a Hobie Revolution 13 kayak with mostly uniform width with so I was able to set all the saddles the same distance apart. I have a medium sized SUV so I had to use a small step ladder. Even after you make the correct adjustments and tighten everything down, you’ll have to move your kayak a bit to get it level and fully seated (which isn’t very difficult). If you look at my pictures, you can see that I have my saddles all the way up and out. However, there are two points (at the base and the saddle) which act like swivels. I could have spread the saddles a little farther apart and it would have brought the entire kayak much closer to the cross bars. You still need to strap down the kayak to the crossbars. I prefer Strappino brand retractable ratchet straps. Less exposed straps = less road/wind vibration noise.
