This is a 'proper' item with rotating cutters, and does a quick and efficient job with the smaller standard diameter pencils including colour pencils. But you won't get a junior triangular Faber-Castell through the aperture! Powered by four AA batteries, which you supply. I like the side entry design and the easily removable large shavings bin, and the overall light weight. Price is attractive, too.

It was great for a while, but then it died for no reason after six months. I changed the batteries, but that was not the issue. It just stopped working. I would not buy again.

Having three kids who love to color and draw, I was looking for something light but efficient and this was perfect. The brand is one of the best, the speed and the quietness of the sharpener is great as well. It’s a perfect size, not too bulky, not heavy, and can store easily in a small space.

Absolutely the best cordless pencil sharper I have ever used and I have been using cordless pencil sharpers for more than 50 yrs. Quickly makes fine sharp points on all standard size round pencils. Had some difficulty installing only one of the 4 needed batteries but that was fixed with some adjustment of the spring at the negative end of the affected battery. So all is good and I am exceptionally happy with this purchase. It is 1000 times better than the Royal cordless sharper that it replaces.
