I needed a 17/64 drill to install some wheels on a coffee table. The wheel had a knurled pilot piece that is meant to be inserted in the leg. The knurled piece is a metric diameter and I wanted a tight fit - this drill was perfect!.

Drilled a few holes so far. Sharp and fast. My old set, too many missing small drill bits. Bought this one because of name & small to 3/8 inch bits. Already have set for larger bits.

They were advised as 13.7/8 inch long. They are not. On the positive side, they are a good drill bit. I've used mine in the lathe and have had no issues with loosing an edge or snapping.

I buy the cheap sets with a case that I like. Then when the cheap drills wear out I replace them with drills like this. Holds its edge and makes a nice clean hole

My husband dropped his drill with the bit in it and, of course, the bit broke. We were glad to not have to buy a whole set to replace this one bit. Were glad we could do it on amazon!

I got the 21 piece titanium nitrate coating bits in a plastic index.Overall I'm happy with the purchase but I would probably not buy this set again. The plastic index is actually pretty nice. The bits are held in by tension, not to tight and not too loose. The hinge and locking mechanism are solid enough that they should hold up. The one bad thing about the index is that the sizes are not colored differently from the rest of the plastic so under certain lighting conditions it can be hard to see, not a show stopper though. The bits themselves were machined fairly well. They sat flush in the chuck and didn't "wobble" due to bending. The cutting edges are well centered and came pretty sharp from the factory. These are split point bits (which is what the "no skate tip" means), so they will be a little more difficult to sharpen when the time comes but worth the trouble. After drilling about 9 holes in 1/16 inch aluminum flashing and the pine wood behind the flashing I noticed that the titanium nitrite coating was completely worn from the outside edges of the flutes and about half worn from the point. This was a little disappointing, I was expecting the coating to last much longer. Once the coating is worn off the cutting edge you end up with a regular high speed steel bit, but 9 holes is such a low number, I feel like the black oxide might have been a better choice given the price delta and life of the coating. The shank of the larger bits (down to 3/16) do have three ground down points so you get a better torque transfer without the bit slipping in the chuck which is a plus.Interestingly these bits are only rated for up to 1500 RPMs which is a little on the low side; if you have a midrange drill you can easily surpass.

Drill bit working nicely ... well ... I never actually notice it much, which, is a good thing in a drill bit. If you don't notice your drill bit, it's doing a good job. I got these TWO at this really good price and I won't do what I did to the one that these are replacing ever again. Promise.

I managed to brake this particular bit from a set of Bosch bits, they are very hard and brittle and if you get the smaller ones on a bind they will brake. Not living where I can just run to the store and pick one of these up it was great to find one on line. These have turned out to be some very good bits, you have to be careful with them, but that is so with many tools we use. The have done a good job for me on every thing I have needed to put a hole through and I use my bits for both wood and metal. You can find cheaper bits, but some times it pays to pay just a little more, you can also find better bits, but they will cost more as well, so if you are looking for some good bits to all around drilling these will do the job, just be careful not to bind them up, which can happen as they start to come through thinner pieces of metal.
