Works great. Used it to set an entire kitchen of cabinets and also hang a 5-peice picture set that needed to be precision leveled. Mounted it to an $18 AmazonBasics trip-pod. Once you start leveling be sure not to bump it. It also bounces the laser if you walk near the level as it's very sensitive to auto-leveling.

This is a great tool for precision art installations. I bought it for hanging paintings, especially multiple pieces that need to be hung level to each other. The unit seems durable enough with its hard plastic case. The laser beam intensity is clear and bright, when used indoors. (I don't see myself using it outdoors, so losing some brightness in bright daylight, as others have commented, is a non-issue for me.) When you release the lock, it take a brief moment to settle, but, as long as it sits on a firm surface or is mounted securely, you get a steady level line to work from. I sense that this is a sensitive, precision tool with its fluid self-leveling feature. So, use extra care not to drop it and engage the lock when it's being transported. I like the mount that's included. It's a bit finicky to get it set up properly but, once in place, it provides a sturdy base.Shelve your extra-long, extra-unwieldy levels and give this useful, portable tool a go.

This is a relatively cheap and convenient laser level for light duty. I've used it mainly for simple tasks like establishing a tile line, hanging pictures, or installing shelving. Mounting on a tripod is fine, but the included clamp for attaching on to other surfaces is awkward and doesn't tend to hold the level in place. With some effort I got it to stay in place on a step ladder. The projected line is bright and easy to see. Using the automatic leveling feature works reasonably well, but the tolerances for angle are limited. The most annoying scenario is trying to mark a line higher up on the wall, as angling the tool upward will take it out of its tolerated range of angles. In general it's a good and useful tool to have if your needs are not that extensive. For complicated or heavy duty work you may want a more comprehensive tool.

Purchased this to replace a hand held laser level that you would have to hold up against the wall. I used it primarily for hanging pictures and/or ensuring drill holes would be level across a wall. This is so much easier (when used with a tripod). I just measure, mark with painters tape, set the laser to my tape line and it's perfect every time. Huge time saver and being a perfectionist, I know that everything is level.Purchased this inexpensive tripod due to it's 9 foot high reach: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003WGNSTE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1My camera tripod just didn't get quite high enough.

Too complicated to use. I ended up returning this. Bosh makes some great products but this one is a fail. You have to have a clamp in order for this to work right.

good price , works well , accurate , checked using a builders level 40' +/- 1/8th. battery hungry though .updatestill works , just as battery hungry. definitely not designed for outdoor work. Buy the glasses and or reflector plate as even in bright indoor spaces it can be a chore to see .

Functions adequately but is difficult to use accurately with the included mount. Really needs to be on a tripod (not included) to be used properly. Replacing it with another that has a bundled tripod.

Very light and practical. It's also very easy to use. It would save you a lot of time and effort compared to leveling the traditional way.

Initially last week I picked up a gll30 from the depot of home because I needed the laser for a weekend project. I looked up the gll2 here on Amazon and noticed then "newer model" available.I purchased the gll30 at the depot out of convenience. I tried to find a review of one vs the other and could not. So here is my take on the pair after buying both and returning the gll30 to the depot. They both do the same function with two major differences in my opinion.First, the selection button on the gll2. This turns the laser on/off/horizontal/vertical. Absent on the gll30, this allows one line if you wish. The gll30 unlock lever serves as the on/off with both lasers illuminated at all times.Second, the manual angle function. Gll2, you can select on or off in both locked and unlocked positions. Lock the laser then tilt to you angle, choose one or both lines. The gll30, the unlock lever turns on the laser, locking it turns it off.Example, with the gll2, set up the laser, unlock and turn on. It will auto level within 4 degrees acting as a pendulum. To set a custom angle, simply lock the laser and adjust where you need it. With the gll30 you unlock the laser and if you wish to set a custom angle you must tilt beyond 4 degrees before the laser rests internally and then the laser blinks every 3 seconds to let you know you're out of level. Difference being, the gll2 locks the laser and allows you to choose the line with no blink, quite easily. In short, I found the gll2's extra button convenient and makes it more flexible.I see the absence of the button a cost saving measure on Bosch's part and of course necessitated a new model number. A new model number of course means a little price bump for the "new and improved".The depot had the gll30 for about 80 bucks, the gll2 here was 50. GLL2 is a much better value.

This was bought for a tile job being done in a shower. As it turns out, it was probably one of the most critical pieces of equipment we used. All lines and tile levels were straight and true and was much easier than measuring and chalking lines. The visibility of this laser during day and night in lighted conditions was better than expected. I read a lot of reviews about it's ability to project a clear beam in day light conditions, however, that did not seem to be the case. I projected it on dark cabinets and light color walls, both were easily visible. I didn't have an opportunity to test it outside in the sunlight. The arm that comes with it is very helpful, the only thing I would have done different is to get a tripod. Finding a stable and easy to clamp location in the bathroom we were working on was a little difficult, especially when we were trying to get a beam straight on vs from one corner of the bathroom to a spot on a wall at a 45 degree angle. This forced us to try to find a spot on the other side of the bathroom which was sometimes difficult. Putting it on a tripod would have made this simple. VERY glad I bought this for the job, I'll never go back!

Have not used it yet, but it is a good brand, so I expect no problems. It has a verticle and or level laser beam. I would also like a point.
