I have used this sander quite a bit. So much so I have worn out the disc plate and replaced it with an after market plate i found on Amazon. I am pleased with its performance and durability. Like I said I have used this thing a lot. I think it is worth the money.

Bought this sander recently and used it yesterday for the first time on a new 1-1/4” x 36” x 75” cherry dining table I am building. Used with a mesh backing pad and 80 grit cubitron sandpaper. In my 50 years of woodworking, this is the most incredible sander I have ever used. Sanding to flawless finish removing glue smears and minor glue up line imperfections was a joy and took one third the time of my other Bosch sander. This sander is the best and fun to use. I did use non turbo mode. Will follow with 120, 150 and 180 grit cubitron. Dust extraction was excellent using my shop vac.

I was hesitant in purchasing this sander as I wasn't sure the price would be worth it for my limited use. Based on two friends who have an older version of this sander, they both gave it rave reviews and convinced me it was the correct tool for my current job. I will mention this right up front; the sander does make some odd sounds which I thought might be a bad bushing, bearing or a gear issue. To compare to an identical sander, I went to a tool retailer to examine the same tool. The sales representative plugged the sander in and it made the same noise while free running in my hands. I asked the rep why and he told me the noises are normal due to the way the gears are made. As I have no previous experience with this type of sander, I don't know if that statement is correct or not. I also visited one of my friends who owns an older version of the Bosch 6" sander. It too made odd noises while running in my hands. I elected to keep the sander and have since used it on a handful of jobs. It does a nice job and is much quicker, especially in turbo mode, than any hand-held electric sander I've used. For extended use the sander could get a little heavy depending on the position it's being held. I am glad I made the purchase and would recommend it.

I bought this sander because I have a bunch of slabs I recently bought that I want to work on. Based on the reviews I finally pulled the trigger and bought it. I am not disappointed with my purchase. The slabs I have previously had been laquered, so I need to remove that and some glue. This sander in turbo mode works well for those applications. It is also good for helping flatten slabs or laminated pieces. When I use it in normal mode its much quicker than using my old 5" sander. But 6" vs 5" is a big difference, plus the extra power. It takes some time to get use to the size of it and how to balance it. Because of the dust collection port being the long tube on the side, it takes a bit to get used to. I use it with my vacuum, with the vacuum I find there is no dust. When I dont use the vacuum there is lots of dust left on the table, so if you want to get this its best to hook it up to something (especially since it removes lots of material). It has lots of power, especially in turbo mode so it takes some effort to keep it under control. If its a big job you will get tired holding on to it, but would be worse trying to do it with a normal 5" orbital and taking many times longer. It is much better than a belt sander especially for removing lots of material quickly. It leaves a better finish and better for trying to keep things flat. The normal mode is great for typical sanding applications. Due to its size weight, awkwardness, I dont think I would use it on smaller items. So if you are considering purchasing this, think about the application you want it for. If you mainly do small tasks, you wont get the most out of it.

Love this sander. Big upgrade from my makita 5" random orbit sander .Pros: amazing material removal in turbo mode , (i use it alot for epoxy removal before final coat) .: comfort , although you really want to hold it with 2 hands on turbo mode: little to no vibration: exellent finish in random orbit mode .: PRICE , considering a festool rotex is close to $1000. And ive used both .: dust collection , ive used this with both mesh sanding disks and hook and loop 8 hole. And both work terrific with the dust collector i use (festool)I cant really say any cons so far . This is the best "duo mode" sander on the market .

I bought this to work on live edge slabs that I make into various tables. My 5" random orbit sander just wasn't cutting it when it came to getting router marks (and other imperfections out of my slabs - I was spending HOURS and hours to get the wood removal I needed. I bought this over the Festool Rotex since it was half the price and I am very pleased with it after ~2 months of use.Pros:- Very powerful and can remove a lot of material if you need it. Use the "turbo" mode on a lower RPM, otherwise you will not be able to keep it under control- The sander will remain at speed even if you put it under a decent amount of pressure/load- Very good dust collection- The two sanding modes are great. I only use turbo at lower grits when I need to remove a lot of material. Orbit mode is much easier to use and gets great resultsCons:- It requires two hands and can be a challenge to keep the sanding disc flat if you aren't paying close attention- It can get hot if you are doing a lot of material removal- It's a little heavy, but that doesn't bother meI think this would work great on floors, as I think this sander is meant for. I sand some very dense wood species and it works great. There are reviews about the sanding pad breaking under load, but I haven't experienced it. I could see the pad potentially breaking if you put a lot of stress on it when sanding an edge or at an angle, so I just avoid doing that with this sander.
